  Usb2din works, usb2usb doesn’t
Posted by: Raphie - 09-28-2022, 12:03 AM - Forum: Computer MIDI Connectivity - Replies (2)

I’m trying to get midiOX to recognize my synth I/O for fw updates and sysex dumps.
When I patch PC USB (green, port 1 of 12 called MRCC) to any of the din outputs AND patch the corresponding DIN input to PC USB (blue, hold, choose port 1 of 12 called MRCC) this works.
But when I do the same for PC USB from/to 1 of the 4 USB device ports it doesn’t?
I’ve tried all virtual ports (1-4) of these as well. Any idea where I’m going wrong?

  Transpose value not persistent.

I'm saving a transpose value of +12 in transpose #2 but on saving and recalling it's back to 0.

Big Grin Arranger Bug
Posted by: Raphie - 09-25-2022, 02:04 AM - Forum: General Support - No Replies

when loading a previously saved arrangement, without arming the arranger causes ratcheting of notes @ 1/64th at the lowest octave.
When arming the sequencer, it pulls it back in play as saved, but one would expect to keep on playing what's the current config, instead of sounding like a machine gun.  Big Grin
Took a while to find this one out.

MRCC (or NDLR) BUG notes dropping (watch video)
Posted by: Raphie - 09-25-2022, 01:52 AM - Forum: General Support - Replies (3)

NDLR - MRCC Bug - YouTube

Debugging above stole most of my weekend, it's a serious bug that needs fixing.
Got a NDLR via USB1 out to MRCC 1
Got a Prophet-10 Rev4 (but same symptoms with any synth) on USB3 on MRCC 2
Used the conductor knob to route USB-1 1 on MRCC-1 to USB-3 on MRCC 2
Got USB 1 (AS-1) and USB 2 (PEAK) also armed on MRCC 2

You see me going through the config of both units in the video > Watch carefully, there are no midi loops or other stuff engaged.
Hear me play the pad, the pad plays a consistent triad chord.
Hear me engage LOCAL output 10 (blue led on MRCC 1) one of the 3 notes of the triad starts randomly dropping off.
Hear me engage REMOTE output 10 (yellow led on MRCC 1) 2 notes drop off and PAD plays monofonic.
As you can see this is repeatable behavior. There is NOTHING connected to MRCC 1 or 2 Midi Out 10.
If impatient, watch from 2.25 you'll hear immediately the notes drop when engaging midi out 10 remote (yellow) and coming back when disengaging.
MIDI OUT (Start/Stop) is OFF on the NDLR.

It seems to be a bandwidth thing. If I map the Prophet-10 from NDLR USB-1 out to USB-4 out it works fine.
Is the bandwidth dynamically distributed between the 4 USB outs? Or does each USB out only have 25% of the NDLR USB bandwidth and is 4 parts over 1 virtual USB ports too much?

  NDLR freezes after boot
Posted by: Pocket Universe - 09-14-2022, 02:32 PM - Forum: General Support - Replies (5)

Hello.

I've been happily using my NDLR for quite some time now, but I've run into a strange issue. When I boot the NDLR it all looks good at first, but after a few seconds it freezes. Not even the BPM pulse moves.

I've tried doing a factory reset and when that didn't help I tried updating the firmware which made no difference.

Anyone got any ideas what I could do next?

good results thus far with 2 instruments (usb)
Posted by: Nelson Baboon - 09-09-2022, 10:47 PM - Forum: Hardware MIDI Connectivity - Replies (2)

the new squarp hapax sequencer has been working flawlessly. (i have not tried syncing to external clock yet, but i doubt that this will be a problem, though it is with the torso t-1.).

and I also have been trying out a Linstrument (full size). I was pleased to have it working perfectly thus far using the usb cable and not an optional psu.

i'll report back if there is any change to this.

EDIT: if you try a linnstrument, you might have full success with it w/o an attached psu, but what i eventually found was that with all of my usb devices powered up, the mrcc, devices weren't working correctly, and indeed the mrcc wouldn't power up completely. I reattached the psu and everything is fine again. Apparently there is a max total power draw with usb, which could potentially make troubleshooting difficult - so i would strongly recommend either using din midi with this, or connecting the psu (which is optional, but has very flexible specs)

Is FW Support for the NDLR dead?
Posted by: Evictor - 09-02-2022, 04:49 PM - Forum: General Support - Replies (8)

Just wondering? It's been quiet and we were promised some amazing features.

I love my NDLR but I know it is capable of so much more. And I know you guys must think the same.

iPad and Mac - 1 or 2 MRCCs?
Posted by: lloydcole - 09-02-2022, 04:29 PM - Forum: MRCC Advanced Configuration - Replies (2)

I have my MRCC currently orchestrating the right side of my studio, which is mostly modular run by hardware sequencers and iPad apps and mostly non-linear.

The left side of my studio is controlled by a Mac running Logic Pro X, which is mostly linear (but not necessarily).

I have the means, I think, to sync the right side to left when i want to make actual songs from sketches, but the midi routing then becomes an issue.

What I want to be able to do is to control all my midi destinations from my Mac/Logic AND/OR my iPad/AUM at the same time.

Is anyone doing this, surely someone?

Happy to buy a second MRCC if it's the solution.

Thanks in advance for any help on this.

How to sequence chord type externally?
Posted by: jlaurasonis - 09-01-2022, 10:49 AM - Forum: General Support - Replies (2)

I am using an Octatrack to sequence MIDI Chord changes on the NDLR. Is there a way to sequence chord type externally without using the internal chord sequencer?
