  The NDLR & Model:Cycles
Posted by: JCFAX81 - 09-01-2020, 12:18 PM - Forum: Show me what you got! - Replies (2)

Hello ??

On this one I used The NDLR’s sequencer parts to jam with the Model:Cycles sounds until I found a loop I liked.
I then recorded this into the Model:Cycles and took advantage of p-locks, chance, and conditional trigs to create some variation and randomisation.
When I was happy I jammed some more and filmed the result.
Think I have actually found the perfect workflow for me, these two machines are a match made in heaven!

  NDLR Cntl to specific port
Posted by: racecube - 08-31-2020, 03:13 PM - Forum: Feature Requests - Replies (6)

As it is now NDLR Cntl receives key changes from ALL (Default 15 ALL)

My setup is: Deluge MIDI Track 15 sequences NDLR chord changes. This works fine...but:
When I enter a MOTIF Menu every chord change causes a step value change in my MOTIF.

  Screen colour invert option
Posted by: autopoiesis - 08-27-2020, 01:36 PM - Forum: Feature Requests - Replies (9)

The screen might better suit some people (eg, ahem, older) with dark graphics on a white/light background.

Would anyone else like to see an 'inverted colours' option?

cheers,
auto

Wink Synthy Jam

Hi,

just had some fun with my Roland JD XA and the NDLR.
This resulted in 2 very synty tracks. If you're into that kind of stuff you might even like it. It's a first throw at it,I keep practicing.
All sounds are from the Roland JD XA. It features 8 parts (layered sounds), 4 analog & 4 digital that all have their separate MIDI channels.
This makes it easy to assign PAD, Drone & Motifs just using 1 synth !

Changing chords via midi CC message?
Posted by: RobertBeach00 - 08-26-2020, 03:12 PM - Forum: MIDI Connectivity - Replies (2)

In the manual's Appendix, for MIDI CC (Control Change) Implementation, to change the chord it indicates CC # 26, values 1-6.   But, there are seven chords that can be chosen.    Same thing for the Chord Type on CC #27.    Are these supposed to be values 0 - 6 ?  See attached image

Thumbs Up Bug(?) - drone re-activated during Stop by mod matrix
Posted by: autopoiesis - 08-22-2020, 11:37 AM - Forum: General Support - Replies (5)

In Mod matrix slot 5: Mod 4 Uni/8beats set at 100% with target Drone On/Off, resultant mod range 0 to 1.  Elsewhere a 48 beat LFO modulates drone position (mod range 0-5), giving occasional boings all over the place - as intended.  Cool

However, if NDLR is stopped (All Stop button), the drone is reactivated by the Mod (including blue light on the main screen) and continues to sound, even if the unit is in stopped mode.  The position LFO no longer modulates the drone position though.

Anyone else seen this/can reproduce?  I can't see why this would be correct/expected behaviour - when NDLR is stopped, there should be no further activity/output - right?

I also note that if - while NDLR is playing - drone is paused manually, it will also be re-activated by the Mod, but in this case, the position modulation no longer functions (white display, no movement) until the drone is manually re-activated via the button - position modulation then resumes.  It's not clear to me that re-activation of the drone by Mod should only re-activate the triggering, and not the associated position modulation... Oddly, drone position modulation also resumes when another part is started (eg Motif 1).

Perhaps I've misunderstood the Mod Matrix?  Nice box, though - I'm having a lot of fun with it Smile

cheers,
auto

  middle C
Posted by: fgeorgy - 08-21-2020, 08:26 AM - Forum: General Support - Replies (6)

Hi,

The NDLR is a wonderful little box.

Middle C (MIDI note number 60) is C5 in the NDLR?

Why not C3 or C4 ?

Kind regards
Francois

  First NDLR use

I was twiddling knobs and then this happened. Its really simple and under-uses the hardware, but I thought it was catchy...

  Paint Design Wearing Off!
Posted by: Thee - 08-19-2020, 03:23 AM - Forum: General Support - Replies (2)

Hi There.

First post here, so I would like to say ''Thank you'' to Conductive Labs for creating an excellent and unique device.

I have had my NDLR for about a month and unfortunately the silver/grey design around the Play/Pause buttons has began to wear off. I would not say that I am particularly heavy handed or even that, that area gets touched the most and also it is not wearing in any other area of the panel. It is only cosmetic but it looks unsightly.

Does anyone have an idea how I could prevent this from getting worse... obviously besides touching it any more?

Which sort of reminds me of that old joke -

Patient goes to the Doctor and says ''Doctor, it hurts when I touch there!'' (touches knee.)
Doctor says ''Well, don't touch it there then!''

All jokes aside any ideas would be appreciated. I suppose I could find something to coat it with or try to match the colour and attempt to re-stencil that area back in.

Thank you.

  Noodlebox?
Posted by: sgindigo - 08-17-2020, 03:16 PM - Forum: Synths and Gear News, Discussion - No Replies

Initially I thought it would be competition for NDLR (and to some degree I believe it is) but combined with NDLR would be super fun.  I have modular as well, so the CV bits plus NDLR's MIDI bits would be inspiring.

Noodles, noodles everywhere...
