chord sequencer - associate a program change
Posted by: noodleeater - 12-11-2021, 12:03 AM - Forum: Feature Requests - Replies (1)

In the bottom part of the chord sequencer as you input A-1  A-2  B-1  B-2  C-1 etc  would be great to be able to repeat one of them but with a program change, e.g. add the program (sound) for each item in the sequencer. That way I can do A-1 (bell) B-1 (guitar) A-1 (harp) etc...

I guess the complexity is what part do you want to change to apply to (drone, pad, motif). so its probably not the simplest feature.

Or maybe work it from a midi-in to change a part so you can at least drive it from a keyboard. Add a screen so that upon receiving a midi event you set the part and program change.

  song for cheer (xmas tune)
Posted by: noodleeater - 12-10-2021, 08:39 PM - Forum: Show me what you got! - No Replies

My first noodle ... hope u like ..  all parts from my kurzweil k2000. all chord changes programmed in the chord seq.  all recorded live with no DAW.  I think it shows u can do a lot with just one synth. I've had my ndlr for just 7 days so still learning....

2 oscillators used on pad, first for position and second for accent. thats it.

I need to re-record in my 192k/24 and post to sound cloud its a bit muddy off the ufx1204 48k. next add a streichtfett. I have one more comp which is analog and really manic so I'll try to add that to this post stay tuned....

DAW USB routing - Getting confused, please help
Posted by: Raphie - 12-10-2021, 01:46 PM - Forum: Computer MIDI Connectivity - Replies (2)

So far the MRCC has been great, connected via Midi IN/OUT to my MioXL
Now I want to use it directly in Cubase and I get confused

The MRCC PC Port has a green light (called IN) andf a Blue light (called out)
I assume the green PC light is the traffic FROM daw to MRCC and the blue PC light is the traffic from MRCC into DAW, is this correct?

This is what I then do
I have a synth connected to midi out 1 (DIN) on the MRCC
I select the left PC button (green light) virtual port 1 is selected, I let go and select midi out 1 (blue light)
In cubase the I can select MRCC until MRCC12
I select "MRCC" as output (this corresponds with virtual port 1)
I have the correct midi CH selected in Cubase (in this case 1)
I play a sequence in Cubase
NOTHING happens

I'm probably doing something wrong, but what?
What is the correct way of playing a hardware synth connected to the MRCC Din out, from Cubase, over USB PC connection.
Pls advise?

  Modulation Destination = Global Tempo
Posted by: epsilonradius - 12-10-2021, 01:30 PM - Forum: Feature Requests - Replies (2)

Hello, One of my fav feature of any device is the ability to control the global midi clock via modulation, I am sure this introduces some design challenges that may or may not be possible to overcome given the NDLR architecture but this would be an amazing feature to add and Im sure others would love it as well.

  Clock from USB to USB?
Posted by: Mopho007 - 12-08-2021, 10:30 AM - Forum: Computer MIDI Connectivity - Replies (2)

Hello All,

I have a JD-XA connected to USB A (which is my master clock), TR-6S connected the USB B, Little Phatty connected to USB C.  I can play the Little Phatty from the JD-XA but not the TR-6S for some reason? But the big issue is the clock & start/stop do not get sent to the TR-6S or Little Phatty? It send clock to MIDI DIN ports just fine, so the clock out is working correctly on the JD-XA.

Also, the unit seems pretty buggy overall. It's locked up several times in one day.

My unit will not boot up, when I power it up it stays frozen on this screen with midi outs 1-7 illuminated.

USB device connection to iConnectivity MioXL - MIDI class compliance issue?
Posted by: raphaelchang - 12-05-2021, 02:48 AM - Forum: Hardware MIDI Connectivity - Replies (2)

Hello,

I am trying to connect the MRCC as a USB device to the iConnectivity MioXL as a host (MioXL host port to MRCC device/PC port - essentially using MioXL as a PC). I was expecting to see 12 virtual host ports to appear in the MioXL. However, the MioXL does not detect the MRCC at all. I saw that the NDLR has had a similar issue with the MioXL over USB. Is the MRCC also affected by this issue? Are there any plans to address this? This setup is important to me as I have devices connected to both the MRCC and MioXL and I need to have them communicate. Thank you!

  Merging priority
Posted by: oldgearguy - 12-03-2021, 09:11 AM - Forum: MRCC Advanced Configuration - Replies (1)

When the MRCC merges two or more ports, is the data looked at for prioritization decisions?
Is it based on port number?
Type of MIDI message?
Type of port?

Just curious since the MRCC (currently) does not sync to incoming MIDI clock, one option is to have a dedicated clock box generate MIDI clock and then use the MRCC to merge the clock with other 'normal' MIDI messages to various destinations.

Most of the time there won't be merging, but for some cases (like the NDLR), there could be times when non-clock data is also present.

  First Track with the NDLR
Posted by: Glomewav - 11-30-2021, 01:50 PM - Forum: Show me what you got! - Replies (1)

In this track I am sequencing an Analog RYTM (Dual VCO), Analog Four, AFX Station and JP-08. Visuals by iOS app "VS" reacting to midi and audio. I named it Gilmour because whenever I use the pentatonic scale chord changes always remind me of something from Pink Floyd's early to mid 70s compositions
