I've had more relatives born than times I've re configured the MRCC  port name assignments so it would be cool if there was some way to import port naming from one preset into another. Maybe there could be two naming schemes 'individual' and 'global' and you could choose which scheme you wanted for each preset. I just don't have the patience to do it for every single preset and it seems like a really good concept but I just have labels stuck on everything. Looks like sh1t!

Hi, considering grabbing one of these, but noticed the ethernet port is on the side?
How does this work with the rack mount?
Also, having hard time visualizing what happens to install the rack ears, is there a video (or even diagram) out there for this?

I have a new Mac mini and an MRCC. I've been using the MRCC with external hardware and sequencers. I recently got a push3 so now trying to be output of MIDI from Push3/Ableton to the MRCC and my external synths. All setup is correct per the instructions, set MRCC to use port1 out, and I have the output set to correct midi channels for synth. I have an external instrument setup going to MRCC port 1 and correct midi channel. No midi seems to get to the MRCC. In the Audio MIDI setup of the Mac I see the MRCC. There are no connections configured here, it is all default.

Is there something more I need to do?

I am a new owner of the MRCC. Only had it a couple of days.
I have been trying to work out how to use the Subsequent  37 and the Minitaur editors in ableton whilst connected to the MRCC. 
Does anyone have any experience with this setup?
I can use the sub37 if used as an external instrument in ableton without the editor. Midi out of sub37 goes to midi in 5 of MRCC using 5 pin din. I send that midi in to PC out 5. I then set the midi from on sub 37 track in ableton to MRCC port 5. I set the midi to on ext. Instrument to MRCC port 5. Everything works.
How do I use the editor? I cannot get it to connect to the hardware. The MRCC is receiving a midi signal. 
Can anyone help with how I use usb midi to connect sub 37 and the minitaur?
I really need to use the editors especially for the minitaur.
Any help anyone can give would be greatly appreciated!

I just received my MRCC 880 this afternoon, and I'm trying to use it to control midi on my Sub 37. 

• The midi I'm sending is from a clip on a midi track my DAW (Ableton 11)
  
• I've connected my 880 to my MacBook Pro (Intel) via a CalDigit hub, and it is being detected in Ableton's "Midi From" and "Midi To" menus on each track.
  
• I've activated the "Out" ports for "Track" in Ableton's "Link/Tempo/Midi" settings tab so that the notes are sent through all four ports of the MRCC 880.  
  
• However, when I send midi via the midi cable I have going from my 880 (OUT) to my to my Sub 37 (IN), nothing happens.  
  
• I know my midi is setup correctly in the Sub 37 because I have a Motu 828 Audio Interface with midi out that can send midi to the the Sub 37 using the same cable on the same port (1), and the Sub 37 responds to that (i.e., it plays notes).  
  

• I can see that midi is being transmitted "from" the daw because the midi channel is lighting up each time a note is played by the daw. 
  
• I've also tried sending Midi "In" from the "Out" port on the Sub 37, but no midi is making it to my DAW.
  

I got an Osmose, and it provides two virtual MIDI In/Out ports via USB. Virtual IN port 2 is always connected to Osmoses internal sound engine, so if I want to send recorded MIDI to the Osmose sound engine or play it via an external MPE controller I need to send data to virtual port 2.

Unfortunately that doesn't seem to be possible via MRCC because MRCC’s USB HOST ports (A, B, C & D) each support four inbound “virtual cables”, but only one outbound. 

Could multiple virtual OUT ports be added via a firmware update or are there other reasons for this limitation?

Hi I have this set up that I want to control . Can I do it? I know how to do 1. But how would I do step 2?
Or is there anotherway to do it? 

1) Keyboard (keystepro) connected to ableton playing midi notes. (yes)
2) Keyboard  (keystepro) controlling another mdi hardware via MRCC through the USB link ? 
To send it midi data. and one clock control from keysteppro for both hardware.

Hi,

I need to remap incoming CC messages to various different output CC messages.

Upon reading the manual, it would seem that we're limited to 6 possible CC re-maps.

I need more than 6 re-maps in order to control my drum machine's parameters from an external MIDI controller, using at least 16 controllers, i.e. faders, knobs, etc.).

Is there a way I can do this using the MRCC?

I've controlling Pad Position, Strum, Range, and Spread with 4 external encoders over MIDI.

Pad Position and Spread work AOK (CC 28 & 31). Strum and Range (CC 29 & 30) seem to do nothing over MIDI, although they work AOK from the encoders on the NDLR.

Maybe this is a know issue? A bug? Or something I screwed up at my end, for which I will surely be flogging myself (with a wet noodle?)

It would be great if clock from any of the inputs, real or virtual, could be selected as the source for the internal MRCC clock to follow and pass that along to any / all outputs.  Unless I'm mistaken, currently having a single external clock feed to all downstream devices requires it to be routed to each, and that would eat up many of the routings (evidently there is a maximum, which has been mentioned here).

My DAW, as with most, can't follow clock, only generate it, so that would be one source over the virtual USB ports that might be used often, other ones being hardware sequencers and groove boxes, as well as dedicated devices like ERM and Midronome, or even the Kenton Pro CV to MIDI Converter.
