I want to know about syncing external gear with the NDLR
Posted by: Anastasia - 04-23-2025, 06:15 AM - Forum: General Support - Replies (4)

Hey everyone! ?

I am using my NDLR with some external synths & I am loving the workflow so far. Super inspiring stuff! That said, I am running into a bit of a snag when it comes to keeping everything properly in sync—mainly tempo drift or slight timing weirdness after a while. ?

Also I have tried a few different setups  but I am still not quite getting the tight sync I am hoping for.

So I figured I would pop in here and ask: how are you all setting up your clocking when running the NDLR with other gear?? Any tips or tricks to keep things running smoothly without MIDI chaos?

I Appreciate your advice.

Thank you.Smile

Velocity setting not working for Motifs 1 and 2?
Posted by: Focalized - 04-09-2025, 02:40 PM - Forum: General Support - Replies (1)

Hi everyone,

I'm a new user of the NDLR and I just wanted to say how impressed I am with this device – it's really fantastic! I'm still discovering all its features bit by bit, and it's been a lot of fun so far.

However, I've run into a little issue: it seems that the velocity setting doesn't work for Motifs 1 and 2. It works perfectly on the Pad, but when I try to adjust velocity for the motifs, it doesn't seem to have any effect.

Am I missing something? Is there a specific setting I should check or a step I may have overlooked?

Thanks in advance for your help!

  Basic USB communication
Posted by: xenoworx - 03-21-2025, 11:54 AM - Forum: MIDI Connectivity - Replies (2)

Hi all,
I've checked the forum for anything on this but everyone here at least seems to be able to get their NDLR to be "seen" by their computer (if they're using one).  However in my case.....
My new NDLR (v2, red case) powers up over USB, DIN MIDI connections seem to work properly (i.e. will drive external HW synths), but USB communication does not work at all:
NDLR is not recognized in DAW (Ableton Live)
USB connection is not recognized by computer (tried 2 Mac M2s, iPad, tried multiple USB cables, with and without powered hubs), despite drawing power from the USB connection.

Couple of red flags that might indicate a faulty unit (vs user error):
1. Initial power up showed a "hardware test" screen (unexpected, no mention of that in the quick start guide).  I was able to figure out that I needed to actuate all the controls to get it to proceed, which it did.  Anyone else seen that?
3. F/W version shows v3.1.025 - I can't find mention of a v3 online, latest I can see at Conductive Labs' page is v2.
4. Serial number on packaging and case shows as 020-0873-2308, but on the unit's display is listed as "000-0000-0000"
So maybe this unit has been unpacked before, monkeyed with, and replaced in a non-working state?

What else can I try before I return this to the shop?
Any help is welcome.

syncing the LFO with the start
Posted by: andlr - 03-15-2025, 03:23 AM - Forum: Feature Requests - Replies (1)

Dear developers, is it possible to achieve synchronous start of the LFO generator along with the start of the NDLR?  This will allow you to get controlled modulations that coincide with the beginning of the clock cycle. In the current firmware, the LFO starts immediately, and does not depend on the start.

  PAD gate signals
Posted by: jeff s - 03-09-2025, 03:57 PM - Forum: General Support - Replies (3)

Hello. I wonder if the PAD feature of the NDLR sends gate signals. Specifically, when a modulator changes note positions, are gate open/close signals sent, or are only note on/off signals sent?

  Modulation Matrix Problem
Posted by: AL1_1956 - 02-19-2025, 09:19 AM - Forum: General Support - Replies (2)

Hello Everybody

I have noticed a problem with the modulation matrix

I use LFO1 (with default settings) to modulate Pad Position

The Mod amount is 25%

The Mod range is 20 to 44

The range of Pad is 1 note

It works fine when I push button I : notes are played one at a time

But when I push button II , notes from the previous chord are stuck

I have checked with MidiOx and it seems that some "Note off" events are missing

  Start/Stop Midi Out conflict
Posted by: alexliberati - 02-13-2025, 07:00 AM - Forum: MIDI Connectivity - Replies (4)

hello, first post here.

I currently have the NDLR sending MINI ch 1-2-3-4 for motifs, pads and drone, efficiently to 4 separate machines. It is all routed out of MIDI OUT A port and into the MRCC which is then rerouting.
No problem there, everything is working well, I can individually start and stop parts or I can start them all together and stop them all together.
No problem.

But.

When I want to use the NDLR to send a clock and start&stop to my drum machine, through MIDI OUT A hell breaks lose.
The error is that while the drum machine starts and stops and clocks correctly, all parts start at the same time even if I'm only playing a motif or a pad or any one of them. Furthermore, there seems to be Midi leakedge between the parts as it seems the machines are overlapping notes from other parts they should not be playing.

This is the procedure which gives me the error:

I go to settings page 1/3
Select Midi Out: MIDI A strt/stop
Press play on any of the four bottom buttons.

I have checked all my midi routing for loops and such, but there is no such problem.

Please help! XD
Thanks in advance!

Something Strange with the pattern editor
Posted by: AL1_1956 - 01-31-2025, 05:36 PM - Forum: General Support - Replies (3)

Hello Everybody and Happy New Year

I have a problem with the pattern editor

I want to make some "Berlin School" (Tangerine Dream , Klaus Schulze) style patterns

So in the pattern editor I have done this

Chord Mode

3 steps

1st step has value 1
2nd step has value 3
3rd step has value 4

so when i push I button I get C2 G2 C3 which is fine

when I push II button I get D2 A2 D3 which is fine

but when I push III button I get B1 G2 B2 in stead of E2 B2 E3

and other buttons give also strange results

Is ther something I'm missing ??

My goal is to have what could be called for a guitar player "power chords" (root , fifth , root octave+1)

Is it something possible or not ??

Thank You for reading

Have A nice Day

Alain

  Maschine Mikro
Posted by: supertemp - 01-30-2025, 02:27 AM - Forum: MIDI Connectivity - Replies (1)

I have a Maschine Mikro that I wonder if I can use with the MRCC? To put in midi mode you can hold shift + native instruments key which is how I use it on the PC.
When I plug into the MRCC it boots up but then is unresponsibe when I press this key combo.
It's such a good little controller, has anyone managed to use it with MRCC?
Any tips or ideas on how to get it working?
