Velocity setting not working for Motifs 1 and 2?
#1
Hi everyone,

I'm a new user of the NDLR and I just wanted to say how impressed I am with this device – it's really fantastic! I'm still discovering all its features bit by bit, and it's been a lot of fun so far.

However, I've run into a little issue: it seems that the velocity setting doesn't work for Motifs 1 and 2. It works perfectly on the Pad, but when I try to adjust velocity for the motifs, it doesn't seem to have any effect.

Am I missing something? Is there a specific setting I should check or a step I may have overlooked?

Thanks in advance for your help!

Hey Focalized,
I'm happy to have a look at this with you.
It's been a while since I have reviewed the functionality of the Velocity settings of the Motifs, so I just took a look in the manual and reading it, I think I might know what the issue is:

From the manual:
Settings Menu 2/3 – This menu is mostly Velocities

Right Side:
1-3. Pad, Motif 1, and Motif 2 “high” velocity settings – 1-127.
4. Velocity Low sets the low bound of the Motif 1 and Motif 2
velocities as a percentage of the “high” velocities. This setting is
used when the Accent “o…o…” options are chosen.

I believe it's saying that the Motif velocities are only applied when the "0...0..." Accent option is selected, otherwise the velocity is provided from another factor (like the rhythm pattern).

If that's not the issue after testing, let me know and I'm happy to help but I'll need more info.

What fw version are you running?

What effect are you attempting to make happen?
What are the steps you are taking to do that?
What are the results?
How are you testing if it works?

Cheers,
Jesse
