I can only route the PC port to two outputs
Posted by: alexwasashrimp - 10-31-2023, 11:46 PM - Forum: Computer MIDI Connectivity - Replies (1)

Hi, I just reset my MRCC after not using it for some time and I can't figure out how to set it up now. Everything is fine except the USB PC port. For some reason, it only allows two outputs total across all virtual USB cables. So I can set PC01 to eg outputs 4 and 5, or I can set PC04 to output 2 and PC08 to output 7, and then I just can't add any more outputs, the blue lights don't light up. What am I doing wrong? It used to work prior to loading the factory preset.

Edit: okay, I may have hit a connection limit. Maybe I have too many inputs and outputs. Is there a hard limit on concurrent connections? I can't find any.

Bug Transpose Mod just does nothing
Posted by: Marcus Universe - 10-29-2023, 10:53 AM - Forum: General Support - Replies (5)

Hi, I connected my old Casio WK 3000 Keyboard over Midi Out into the 3th Midi Input of the MRCC. Then I route it to P01 Out. In my Daw (FL Studio) I can play now the MRCC Midi and it works fine.
But now I want to add a transpose mod to it.

So I went to the routing section and selected the out port so it says 3 -> P01. I adding a Transpose Preset 1 to the first mod slot.
Now by pressing the knob dile, I will be in the transpose settings window. Here I can set the transpose for the preset 1 and nothing happens.
Still the same key.

I literally followed the instructions of the MRCC YouTube video for Transpose (Transpose Mod Tutorial by MRCC)

Doesn't matter what preset I choose, what mod slot I use or if I use a different P Out or Midi In Port.
Midi Channels set on Any in the Transpose page but It also doesn't matter if I change it to the Midi Channel I use.

I even tried to factory reset the MRCC, Updating the newest firmware to MRCC_v1.1.073 and trying to use a different midi synth (Novation Circut Tracks) to send the Keyboard Midi to it and transpose it.

Because I thought that maybe my Keyboard was too old, I also tried sending Midi from the Novation Circut Tracks into my Daw. Also no transpose, It stays on the same normal transpose.

Nothing works, it's like the transpose mode doesn't do anything. I think it is a bug :/

Here I put some pictures of my settings:

  fixed transpose arp
Posted by: deep88 - 10-29-2023, 09:02 AM - Forum: General Support - Replies (6)

hey is there a way to transpose a pattern i made without following the scale?
let's think about donna summer moroder "i feel love" type, same chord  1,5t and 7m arpeggio on 1, 3, 5 and 6 root note (but not following the scale)
ps
i know i can change scale but in a way the change is not "quantized" so is a bit of a pain (it changes instantly)
would be super if i could change scale and the ndlr could still play what it was playing and then when i press the chord button (only then) as usual change as per quantization on setting (1/8, 1/4 etc)

Question Flashing Amber Light
Posted by: Pipmeister - 10-21-2023, 09:07 AM - Forum: General Support - Replies (1)

Does anyone else have a flashing Amber coloured light emanating from behind the PC port (the device port on the front) ? I swear it wasn't there yesterday and it's coincided with my Mac not recognizing the MRCC today. Have changed USB cables an Mac/Hub ports.  Are the two things connected?

Have recently upgraded to Firmware v1.1.073 but the MRCC was behaving yesterday post upgrade.

BTW the MRCC is handling my USB Device input from KeyStep pro and routing without a hitch.

Thanks

Question PC USB Device port stopped working
Posted by: Pipmeister - 10-21-2023, 08:31 AM - Forum: Hardware MIDI Connectivity - Replies (1)

Hi- I use two inputs, one from my Keystep Pro (which is still sending out Midi to my gear) and a PC Device coming from my Mac.  All was working fine yesterday following a firmware update the night before. Today I turned everything on (and the User 1 patch) and the Mac isn't seeing any of the MRCC ports. Checked the USB cable. Even changed the Mac port. As I said, the Keystep is still routing to the gear directly ok.

I've also noticed a there seems to be a flashing amber light emanating from behind the USB port.  Can't say I've noticed that before.

I've tried starting again, routing everything back from scratch and still no joy.

Could the USB port have broken?   Huh

What a delight Indeed. So happy with my new
midi control centre!

While noodling, I noticed that de key Db is presented as Dd. No big deal ofcourse just wondering if anyone noticed also?

Channel strategy for Newb with large setup.
Posted by: Newb_with_chronic_GAS - 10-19-2023, 01:14 PM - Forum: Hardware MIDI Connectivity - Replies (5)

Hi everyone,
so I have about 20 pieces of MIDI gear of various sorts (modules, synths, pedals, controllers) and I've got two MRCCs to control/integrate them all (hopefully!).

I've managed to get the basics up and running (i.e. one keyboard driving several different pieces of gear), but before I try to implement my final approach, I was wondering is there some sort of strategy I should follow re: Channel assignment?

Or does MRCC basically make it easy that every single device sends and receives on Channel 1 and you let the MRCC handle all the mapping? Or is that very much a bad idea and if so could someone explain why?

I've tried to run through it with ChatGPT and it reckons this "unique" approach would work, but I'm worried now about why it's unique and what I might be missing out on.

Probably important to mention that I plan to use the Octatrack as my main jamming device with the PC12 controller.

Thanks for any help!

  Labels.. wtf?
Posted by: Pipmeister - 10-18-2023, 11:19 AM - Forum: General Support - Replies (3)

Hi,

After finding a USB keyboard that works I spent 10 minutes entering/saving around 20 additional labels following the instructions to the letter.  Then when I came to use them in Assign Label I found that all the ones that were alphabetically after "J" were now gone even the ones that were already there like the KeyStep Pro and the NDLR. So I went back add re-added one of the missing ones (from the "T" range) and lo and behold, now all 4 of the "M" Labels were suddenly visible. But still a whole load missing. So I turned the unit off and on again, and tried again adding in a couple of Ts.... now all the N's reappeared but still not the 3 T's I had just rentered.

So I gave up - I can find no logic whatsoever in why this is happening.

Anyone got any ideas?

Thanks Huh

  Modulator for ALL Pause/Play?
Posted by: cpax - 10-18-2023, 09:09 AM - Forum: Advanced Features - Replies (2)

Hello!  New owner and first time poster here.  I'd like to have a bit of a pause before changing keys, chords, or chord types to let pads and drones trail off and avoid some of the unwanted dissonance that it can sometimes produce.  So... is there a way to modulate the ALL Pause/Play rather than assigning a separate modulator for each part?  If not, an ALL Pause/Play modulator would be really helpful so you don't have to use up 4 modulators to achieve the desired effect.  I'm still getting my feet wet, so if anyone can suggest a different approach I'd be happy to give it a try.
