MRCC production status
Posted by: Darryl - 04-22-2021, 04:51 PM - Forum: General Support - Replies (11)

MRCC's are being assembled now! At least, the circuit boards are done and going into burn-in testing. That's where they get turned on and run a special test firmware for at least 24 hours. We're still waiting on the enclosures to be finished. They are waiting for anodizing and silkscreen, and should be done next week. Then final assembly and boxing them up for shipping.
The May Day holiday starts right about the time we'd be sending them to the fulfillment warehouse which will delay us a bit. We expect them to be delivered to the warehouse the week of May 10th.

Here is a picture taken last night of the first few MRCCs to start burn-in:

Chord sequencer - larger note increment
Posted by: Julien STG - 04-19-2021, 11:15 PM - Forum: Feature Requests - No Replies

Hello there! In the chord sequencer, the per step note increment is set at 1/8th note resolution. It would be great to have somewhere in the edit menu the option to set a different note increment resolution such as full note, 1/2 note etc. (or maybe a combo button/encoder within the chord sequencer menu to switch between 1 and 1/8th resolution?)
By the way, I really like the NDLR, looking forward to the MRCC!!

Hi I made a chord sequencer tutorial which can be found on the Downloads page of our website here:

I hope this is helpful for some of you, and if you have questions feel free to ask here!

  Chord seq. starting step issue
Posted by: Julien STG - 04-19-2021, 07:45 PM - Forum: General Support - Replies (1)

Hi there, sorry if this was already mentioned but I could not find it in previous threads. My issue with the chord sequencer is when I press stop on the NDLR and then restart the NDLR with the sequencer armed, the chord sequencer almost never restarts at step one, making it out of sync with my other gear (i.e. Digitakt in this case with the NDLR setup as clock out and transport out). Is there a way to make the chord sequencer always restart at the beginning of step 1?

  First NDLR Recording

I was feeling a little bit of the Easter Spirit on Sunday and recorded this little snippet of Dallas Holmes' Rise Again while tinkering in my studio. My newly-arrived NDLR into four instances of an Oberheim OBX VST provided all of the accompaniment.

  PC - USB passthru
Posted by: oldgearguy - 04-07-2021, 12:09 PM - Forum: Feature Requests - Replies (3)

It appears that the MRCC blocks/drops/filters all non-MIDI communications between applications on a computer and USB-connected devices.

Is that accurate?

If so, is it possible to allow that type of communication in a future update?

I have a few devices that had specialized/dedicated applications running on the computer (Mac mini in this case) and to use them, I have to unplug the USB cable from the computer to the MRCC and re-route it to the hardware so the app can see the device and allow me to edit/load/save data to it.  While I'm doing this, some of the MRCC functionality is unavailable since I'm physically pulling cables.

Feature Request - chord splitter for monosynths
Posted by: MrJon - 04-06-2021, 09:21 AM - Forum: General Support - Replies (8)

Hello,

I was reviewing the draft manual and think this may be covered under 'Channel Layers(Splits and Layers) Sub-Page', but I'm not 100% on that.  If it's not covered yet, would there be a possibility to split out chord data from an input keyboard and route the individual notes to individual outputs connected to monosynths?  MIDIpal from Mutable instruments had a pretty slick way of doing this and it helped keep my extensive collection of monosynths busy.  My MIDIpal died and I haven't replaced it yet with the MIDIgal or other spin-offs; but before I do that, I figured I'd check in here.

For example, here is a snippet:

Dispatching method:

 • cyclic (cyc). Each new note is cyclically played on the next channel.

 • polyphonic (pol). The mapping of notes to channel uses a true voice stealing algorithm. The MIDIpal tries to reuse the same channel for occurrences of the same note ; or the least recently used channel.

 • random (rnd). Each new note is routed to a random channel.

 • stacking (stk). Each note is sent to all channels at the same time. Perfect for thickening a lead by sending it to several synths, or to several parts of the same multitimbral device.

 • velocity (vel). The louder (higher velocity) the note, the higher the MIDI channel it is sent to.

  USB Host ports virtual In/out = 4/1
Posted by: Joris Röling - 04-03-2021, 06:49 AM - Forum: General Support - Replies (17)

Hi,

I read in the preliminary (draft) manual that the 'virtual cables' on the USB Host ports are 4 inbound, and 1 outbound.

Why is this 'asymmetrical' setup? I have a device (class compliant) that has 4 virtual IN cables, and 4 virtual OUT cables, and I'd love to connect and use them all, on both the IN and the OUT side of things.

Hope you will support 4 IN and 4 OUT virtual cables somewhere in the future.

Best,
Joris

Mod Matrix CC destination not saved?
Posted by: Rix643 - 04-03-2021, 04:10 AM - Forum: Advanced Features - Replies (2)

Proud owner of The NDLR for two weeks, but I noticed something which seems like a bug.
When I use the modulation matrix to send out CC's, the destination is not saved with the Global settings. As soon as I turn on the NDLR or load a Global Setting, the destinations are set to 1-MIDIA even though I changed it and then saved it. Am I missing something? Firmware is 1.1.073

Also in addition, an offset for the MIDI CC value would be nice.

  chord sequencer
Posted by: hiddenagenda - 04-02-2021, 09:34 PM - Forum: General Support - Replies (5)

Greetings knowledgeable noodlers. My question is: Is there any info from the designers here on how to use the Chord Sequencer?  I'm not getting much from the manual and I've looked here on the forum a bit and discovered nothing in the way of basic operation.  Thanks for any help.
