New Behringer DS-80 - Yamaha CS-80 is Coming - First Renders

Don't personally have room for something like this, already too many keyboards, but pretty impressive if they pull it off. Holding my breath for the Oberheim module!

Issue with MIDI control of Part Port and Ch
Posted by: Morph From Orph - 05-05-2019, 03:59 PM - Forum: General Support - Replies (2)

I've never had issues with getting NDLR to respond to MIDI CC's but for some reason I cannot get a response from CC#'s 51,52,53 and 54. I've tried everything. Can anybody else please confirm functionality?

Thanks

Bug Patch change on receipt of All Notes Off msg
Posted by: oldgearguy - 05-02-2019, 03:04 PM - Forum: General Support - Replies (1)

My MIDI patchbay (Sycologic 16x32) sends an All Notes Off message across all 16 channels when you reconfigure a route.
Apparently the NDLR sees that and decides to (re) load saved patch 0 every time it sees that message.

Can that be prevented?  Often I am changing around what gear is connected and editing the NDLR preset at the same time.  When it loads 0, it wipes out any work in progress.

Thanks

(testing on 1.0.29)

  Ndlr & Digitone
Posted by: Tnsl - 05-02-2019, 10:44 AM - Forum: MIDI Connectivity - Replies (3)

Happy NDlr owner here, please someone help me with some settings in order to play the digitone with the Ndlr.
My problem is that I cannot control all parameters of Motif-2 for Digitone. I tried to have the Digitone for all 4 parts and all of them are working, except Motif-2.

The Ndlr receives midi from the Digitone, but the only things I can control are the Tempo, Key & Mode. Ndlr is playing a sequence on Motif-2 from Digitone, that I don't know where it comes from. All my other 2 synths ( Tetra, As-1) are working accordingly.

I checked the midi settings on both and they look all matched up...I am not sure where to look for other settings to make the Digitone respond to Motif-2 parameters ( like position, lenght, direction and so on...)

Thank you

Tutorial: how I control the NDLR from the Digitone
Posted by: synthdad - 04-25-2019, 03:29 PM - Forum: Show me what you got! - Replies (3)

Hey all,

I put together a tutorial video on how I sequenced chord changes on the NDLR from the Digitone, and then sequenced sounds on the Digitone from the NDLR. Hopefully it will be useful to people who want to use Elektron sequencers to control their NDLR.

  NDLR and Elektron Digitone
Posted by: synthdad - 04-22-2019, 12:35 PM - Forum: Show me what you got! - Replies (3)

The Elektron Digitone is a wicked synth, and I love the sounds I can get form it with just a few random tweaks. What better candidate for a NDLR jam?

In this video the Digitone MIDI sequencer is controlling the chord changes on the NDLR using Notes on trigs. By looping between patterns I basically build up the song. The LFO on MIDI tracks 1 and 2 are moving the pad position up and down the range, and also expanding and contracting the range of the motif 1 pattern. This creates a lot of dynamic movement., especially when combined with the arpeggiator on the Digitone.

Once I figured out the MIDI mapping for the NDLR it became a much more versatile instrument for me. Next is to learn the mod matrix options on it.

Had a slot at an electronic/experimental/noise all-dayer in Ipswich yesterday, so it was a prime opportunity to take the NDLR out in public! I haven't dived in deep with pattern editing and suchlike as even the simple features of the NDLR provide a lot of fun - I'm sure advanced usage will come later.

Behringer Neutron (drone)
Roland D-05 (pad)
Akai Rhythm Wolf (bass synth on motif 2, drums triggered by CLK OUT as Akai screwed up MIDI with this unit)
