  Chord sequencer 1/8 steps
Posted by: Ghostz_of_Moar - 07-08-2021, 06:13 AM - Forum: General Support - No Replies

I have been using the chord sequencer for a few weeks now and while my experience has been mostly positive I have noticed that when I set a step to 0.5 1/4 note....the sequencer ignores the step and the modulation within that step. 1 x 1/4 note and 1.5 x 1/4 note work, but not .5

Also disarming the sequencer doesn’t really disengage it and set it back to manual manipulation. I have to go in a set A,B,C to “-“

  new (again) user - frustration
Posted by: Nelson Baboon - 07-07-2021, 06:49 PM - Forum: General Support - Replies (9)

I'm just about to bail for the evening.

I'm not finding the docs relevant to me to be anywhere near helpful.

I owned an ndlr a couple of years ago, reached a point where i didn't have midi gear, and sold it. Realized that the ndlr would be quite fun now, and found one used.

went to the quick start. of course, the quick start doesn't tell you what is supposed to happen so that maybe you can troubleshoot.  it just says 'and you're NOODLING'. ok. So, I follow the instructions, and nothing happens. I have my midi monitor up. I'll do it again: hit the motif 1 play button (at least I THINK it's the right one) and nothing happens at all.midi monitor shows nothing. ok - so, i guess i need to press a chord button. I do that - nothing.

I first encountered this and noticed that the firmware was old. I see on the site that below a certain version you need to reload the factory defaults. Of course, there is nothing called that in the manual, and the site doesn't tell you quite what you need to do. Of course, I found it, but it took a little while, and I wonder why consistent terminology can't be used?

Now I'm successfully updated, and still nothing happens when I do the quick start. I still don't remember what is supposed to happen. Is the idea that I' supposed to rtfm BEFORE the quick start? That would be amusing.

(and yes - successful connection, which was necessary for the firmware update. Live sees the ndlr, etc. NOT a beginner at this at all)

EDIT: complaints stand. instructions should be given in the quick start about what to check in the midi menu and how to get there. I was tricked in that a couple of times some quick messages appeared in my midi monitor, which showed channel 1. Since I have the usb cable connected, I figured that the connection was ok, but obviously I needed to edit that. (A good place to start, for me, is to just set all of them to all, and then edit from there). A quick start should assume that the user knows NOTHING about the device. In any case, now sending out midi.

Lightbulb Programmable "Y" button.
Posted by: User - 07-07-2021, 01:39 AM - Forum: MRCC Feature Requests - No Replies

If you are not using an additional routing device, the "Y" button could be very useful for other functions. In the device settings, you could choose between the standard operation of the button and (even redefined) additional functions. What could be programmed? for example:
- quick save
- jump to any page of settings
- opening the page of the last modified parameter
- midi stop/panic
- arpeggios on/off
- transpose on/off
- internal clock on/off
- mini monitor page on/off

...any more Smile

  Remote MRCC name support
Posted by: oldgearguy - 07-06-2021, 05:15 PM - Forum: Feature Requests - No Replies

Esoteric request, but it would be useful if I could see the names assigned to the remote MRCC ports when I'm sending an input to it.

Basically, hold down the "Y" button and press a destination and the name pops up like it does for local ones

Analog Rytm over USB doesn't work
Posted by: ilmai - 07-04-2021, 12:27 PM - Forum: Hardware MIDI Connectivity - Replies (6)

Looks like USB MIDI doesn't work with Elektron Analog Rytm. I verified all settings on the Rytm, and it works over DIN, so looks like it's a USB issue. I had similar issues with RK006 and Analog Rytm, so maybe it's just finicky somehow?

  sample accurate audio clock available???
Posted by: Pluton - 07-04-2021, 02:21 AM - Forum: Feature Requests - Replies (1)

Howdy Smile ,

i´m a user of E-RM MultiClock and in the last years was happy with it.
But the MRCC could become my next favorite - if there is an answer of one question:

will the MRCC be supported with using sample accurate audio clock, which (many of us know) allows for rock solid sync signals.

There are 4 TRS-jack plug-INs on the MRCC ... so it should be possible, shouldn`t it???

  Feature request: clock offset
Posted by: DJISF - 07-02-2021, 04:22 PM - Forum: General Support - No Replies

Still waiting on my order, but when I get mine, I'd love to be able to set a MIDI clock offset per port. I have a slicer pedal, and it needs to be tied super tight to the rhythm. It would be nice to be able to set an individual clock offset for that port to dial it in.

Lightbulb Modifier - Combine two CC into one, different CC (like SHIFT + key)
Posted by: User - 07-01-2021, 02:32 AM - Forum: MRCC Feature Requests - Replies (3)

The idea is to create modifier that works when TWO predefined CC signals are present. For example KNOB1 change Cut Off, PAD1 do nothing, but when PAD1 is pressed AND KNOB1 is changing, then it will send another CC, for example to change Resonance only (no PAD1 signal or KNOB1 Cut Off will be sent to output).
Thanks to this, having a small MIDI driver, you could program a lot of different functions in simplest possible way.

...and now even more. We could use any defined Note Key (for example C1) instead of PAD1. With single midi keyboard with single knob (or slider - i have one keyboard with volume slider only) it can be used for advanced CC changes. Even arturia keystep pro have only 5 knobs in single control track, but with this trick it could be multiplied for all tracks and much more CCs changes.

Make sense?

PS. I moved older post with this idea here.
