  Serious issues with the screen
Posted by: Glomewav - 09-30-2021, 05:05 AM - Forum: General Support - Replies (4)

I just received my brand new NDLR from Perfect Circuit yesterday with the latest firmware preinstalled and have it plugged into a powered USB hub for power and midi to an ipad pro. Everything works fine for a few minutes but then the screen just becomes unresponsive. The knobs and buttons seem to be functioning but the screen seems to be frozen with nothing changing despite any parameter change. Unplug and plug back in and the same behavior is reappearing every time after maybe 10 different attempts.

Side note. I can see a faint red light emitting from underneath the the buttons any time I change a parameter via button or knob. Not sure if that is a normal behavior either.

Should I just return to Perfect Circuit? Maybe try a different power outlet?

MRCC Crashes trying to route Deluge to Behringer 2600 USB
Posted by: The Puppeteer - 09-29-2021, 10:00 PM - Forum: Hardware MIDI Connectivity - Replies (3)

I've applied output filters to only allow MIDI notes through to the Behringer 2600 on USBA.

As soon as I connect MIDI 4 In (where the Deluge is plugged in) to USBA (where the 2600 is plugged in) the MRCC freezes, requiring me to repower.  This is irrespective of whether the Deluge is playing or not.  Any idea what could be the issue?

Hi all, made this for easy access to CC implementation. It is formulated for 100% scale print on a DIN A4 sheet (yes, sorry U.S. friends, we're in metric mode here). If anyone sees mistakes and takes the time to mention them, I'll fix them when I get a chance.
Happy NDLing.

  Bone Orchard
Posted by: secretstairsrecords - 09-25-2021, 03:05 PM - Forum: Show me what you got! - No Replies

[size=1]Stirring up grey dust, I made my journey to the Bone Orchard.

My arrival was untimely.

I would never know the color of the cloth that draped over the catafalque.

The surrounding stones were crumbling and unkempt.

Their abundance engulfed me like a riptide.

Underneath my old boots was the smell of decomposing flora, aroused by
a biting wind that emanated a hiss similar to that from a snake's glottis.

Was it the medicine or prayer that made them sicker and sicker until they ended up here?

All music was created from various modules in VCV Rack and from various softsynths, all controlled by the NDLR, then edited in Logic Pro X.
All video was created from various copyright-free video clips from the Internet Archive website, further manipulated using the Hyperspektiv app, then all edited in iMovie.

  Midi Beat Clock Remote
Posted by: hirada - 09-25-2021, 05:07 AM - Forum: MRCC Feature Requests - Replies (4)

So, for those, who do not want to use the Remote 7 breakoutbox, but are otherwise worried, that their shiny ethernet port will start to rust, I'd suggest a remote control that allows for sending start, pause, stop (pause with reset) commands and setting of the BPM of the internal clock.

I do guess/hope, the internal clock is running all the time anyway, now we just need a comfortable way to adjust it and tell the connected gear to actually start working. Or stop thereof.

To me this (probably) would make using the MRCC as a clock master a way more alluring. Now probably, because I do not have this device as of yet, to be fair.

[Edit]: Maybe this could even be archived with a specialised midi device connected to one of the USB host ports, that is talking to the MRCC? Instead of Ethernet.

Sending start/stop from a remote machine is no magic, we just need to make shure it is talking to the MRCC and not directly to the out ports, just the setting of the BPM could be a little trickier, but nrpn should be able to do the magic.

So we would need to be able, probably via menu, that in this case a certain usb port is routed to the MRCC. And therefore the buttons have no effect.

In the end, I guess, I prefer the ethernet solution.

  Something from last winter

I did this last winter for my step-mom before she passed. The NDLR handled all the melodic parts.

  List of issues
Posted by: FaxLtd - 09-24-2021, 08:42 PM - Forum: General Support - Replies (1)

I’m finding the way that modifiers and the routing is structured within the MRCC to be really frustrating. I’m used to working in ableton where I add a bunch of midi fx on an individual channels so that everything that channel receives is affected. In the MRCC, it seems that you make a bank of set modifications than those preset modifications can be inserted into a routing if I’m understanding correctly. Not the most intuitive approach at least from my experience having trouble figuring out how to use any of the features

Issues with using my mopho editor. I tried running the mofo in and out through the MRCC midi ports, then running those in and out through the PC port on the MRCC, then activating the appropriate parts in ableton. The problem is that that I can get the editor to mostly work except I can’t select my patch from the library in the editor. As soon as I select a patch in the editor it will go to that patch and then it will immediately zero everything out including the patch name, everything. Now since I don't do a save operation, I can change I can just change whatever patch it’s on manually on the device and then it’ll revert back to the settings. Also when I tried using the editor through the MRCC it seemed to bog down the MRCC to the point that I had to reboot it because it was running so slow it was essentially frozen.

Cannot get my NDLR to transmit anything other than motif 1 through the MRCC. I have tried running both through midi cables and via USB. I can only get notes from motif 1. The exception to this is when I route to my AN200 (The AN200 has one synth channel and 3 drum channels. so midi channel 1 plays the synth, and 2-4 are drums) I can get motif one to play the Synth, drone and pad which I sent to channel 3 and 4 respectively in the NDLR will trigger the drum channels motif 2 doesn’t seem to trigger anything.
I'm really surprised at how difficult it is to use the NDLR with the MRCC. I had really high hopes since I absolutely love my NDLR.

Exclamation Routing Causing MRCC to Freeze
Posted by: Eamoex - 09-24-2021, 05:29 PM - Forum: General Support - Replies (25)

We are a duo. Maybe we had too big expectations with the MRCC with the latest firmware. Basically, what we do is use a Pyramid and NDLR as MIDI sources to control several (10) machines. So there's quite a bit of splitting and a bit of merging (mainly taking clock of out A and notes of out B from the Pyramid and merging them to the NDLR, which is only connected in USB). The setup crashes the MRCC consistently, within a 10 minute timeframe, but at totally (apparently) random moments. Setups without USB ports crash it the same.

It is down to a point where we're considering selling the MRCC because we would like to rely on it as the brains of our MIDI network, and it is simply not trustworthy, if even usable.

It does not look like such a big setup, for there are many ports still free on the front panel...

The frustration is big. Do other users experience the same kind of heavy trouble? Could our MRCC be broken?

Sad Patterns are being edited by note messages
Posted by: Eamoex - 09-24-2021, 04:20 PM - Forum: General Support - Replies (7)

I use my sequencer to automate chord changes. Everything is fine, except when I display the pattern page while the sequencer is running, the patterns steps are being edited by the received notes. I would like this not to happen, i.e. make changes to the pattern manually, with the NDLR knobs, while the chord sequence unfolds.

Question 1: what is the purpose of this behavior?

Question 2: can I disable this?

Use USB ports as USB hub into computer so USB audio. Is possible.
Posted by: Kyl3wyld - 09-22-2021, 11:41 AM - Forum: MRCC Feature Requests - Replies (1)

If you could turn the usb ports into a standard USB hub there should be no problem using them for audio over usb. Not sure if that would be possible.
