  Fathers' Day
Posted by: Tim Wilson - 05-03-2020, 10:02 AM - Forum: Show me what you got! - Replies (4)

I got some time with the Ndlr last fathers' day and came up with this.

https://soundcloud.com/broken-gadget/fat...sets/tunes

Access Virus on drones, Roland Juno on one Motif, Novation BassStation on another with a Roland D110 doubling up and adding squelches.

Take care

Tim

  Auto Edit in Motif Screen
Posted by: racecube - 04-20-2020, 08:43 AM - Forum: MIDI Connectivity - Replies (4)

My Setup is:
Sequencer (Deluge) OUT in MIDI B, NDLR CNTL 15, NDLR TRANS 16
MOTIF 1 on OUT B 6, MOTIF 2 on OUT B 7

CLK by Deluge

Now this happens:
I have track 15 on the Deluge to control chord changes on the NDLR...this works fine!
If I go into a MOTIF Pattern Editor it receives the step changes by the Deluge (while it is playing)
and generates automatically values on each step.
And because there is a little delay on send and receive it is a totally random result.

If I leave the Editor the chord changes from Track 15 work in the last "random-programmed" Pattern.

In the Pattern Editor it receives a step forward on every beat and generates values.

Only solution at this time: Turn Knob 4 (bottom left) all to the left to get into PATT Note Type edit (Chord/Scale/Chromatic) where no values will be written to the existing pattern.

Could you make this Default (to be in PATT Note Type edit (Chord/Scale/Chromatic)
when I enter the Pattern Editor?

  Change MOTIFs to PAD functions
Posted by: Pdog - 04-17-2020, 10:13 AM - Forum: Feature Requests - Replies (3)

Hello
I probably need to read the current version of the manual, but is there a way to use the MOTIFs like the regular PAD function?  There are days when I just want to run evolving pads over a drone. Smile
I have tried slowing down the Master Clock and have certainly had fun playing with the MOTIF controls but MOTIFs wanna keep MOTIFing with their variety of notes.
And of course, I have tried hooking up various modules and setting them to the same MIDI channel.  And that does work, but I guess I am trying to slow down the speed in which a MOTIF walks through the setting down to "Glacial".

Looking forward to everyone's response, the Forum has been a great learning tool!

  External MIDI control display anomaly
Posted by: Almost Aviation - 04-16-2020, 10:12 AM - Forum: General Support - Replies (1)

I have set up some buttons on my Korg nanoKONTROL 2 to switch between Drone types (middle line on the Drone display), which works fine. The changes are reflected on the display reliably, but the middle line always goes yellow, even if the NDLR is set to the Position (top) or Trigger (bottom) line. When this happens the NDLR has two lines highlighted in yellow instead of one. This is a visual thing only, it stays in the correct mode (so, for example, if I had set Position mode, the knob still changes the Position). I don't think this is a refresh problem, I wouldn't expect it to change the colour at all.

Hope this makes sense. There may be other similar glitches, but that's all I've tried so far.

  Sending Sysex through NDLR
Posted by: TV123 - 04-11-2020, 12:45 AM - Forum: MIDI Connectivity - Replies (2)

Hi everyone,

I'm trying to connect my mac with the NDLR and my DX7.

My setup looks as follows:
Mac (running Patch Base) -> NDLR via USB -> DX7 midi in via NDLR MIDI out.
So basically, the NDLR cannot send the Sysex info to the DX7.
Does anyone of you have a suggestion on how I can use Patch Bay and NDLR at the same time?  Huh

Thanks!

Toon

Hi there

This may be a dumb question but trying to follow the ideas in a 'Secrets of Dance Music Production' book and on page 148 it suggests a common progression example is I IV V vi I. Note the minor  Thanks

Keith
