  Generous sharers of grooves?
Posted by: MrPipes - 11-11-2019, 05:33 AM - Forum: Advanced Features - Replies (1)

I have only had my ndlr for a week or so...

So please forgive me if this is muddle headed

But would some relaxed and generous souls mind sharing just a simple phone photo of any interesting Rhythm or Patterns you have had fun with?

I’d be intrigued to see what a Reggae rhythm actually looks like for instance...or maybe a funky disco bass line pattern

Just as a starting point...thank you

  Electra One MIDI Controller
Posted by: Dr.Noize - 11-10-2019, 04:19 PM - Forum: Synths and Gear News, Discussion - Replies (4)

Very interesting MIDI controller to give tactile control for a menu driven synthesizer with a few knobs. I think I'll get the Electra One for the Nord Drum 3p and Elektron Sidstation.
https://electra.one

But based on this hardware design I must think of some kind of concept ala NDLR XT with this touch screen and instead of the encoders below the screen the encoders placed on the sides of the screen like the original NDLR. But it could be even more extensive like below the touch screen two rows of 8 buttons for step sequencing ala Elektrons Digitakt & Digitone.

I've not seen any complete concept so far with the elements of the NDLR, Electra One and Elektron sequencers together.

Well, just swapping out some ideas Big Grin

  NDLR start stop messages
Posted by: Lozza - 11-10-2019, 10:12 AM - Forum: MIDI Connectivity - Replies (13)

Hi everyone.

My NDLR has recently landed and I’m trying things out on a couple of synths before attempting to integrate it into my full set up.
I’ve hooked it up to my Digitone through 5 pin Midi, with its tracks 1-4 being allocated to Drone, Motifs 1&2 and Pad on the NDLR.
When I press any of the NDLR parts, that respective track on the Digitone plays.
When the Play All button is pressed, all 4 tracks play. Perfect.

I have a Digitakt also connected, receiving the same midi signal from NDLR.
This also starts when Play All is pressed. Perfect.

What I don’t want, is the Digitakt starting when the Pad or Drone part is started on the NDLR.
For some reason, pressing Pad and / or Drone starts the Digitakt, when the Motif parts do not.

I’m sure it’s a settings thing-can anyone advise please?

Many thanks, Lozza.

  Deliveries from October 2019 batch
Posted by: Jonny English - 11-06-2019, 10:44 AM - Forum: General Support - Replies (5)

Hello all NDLR customers in the UK. Just wondered if anyone has received their NDLR from the October 2019 batch yet? I know they started to ship last week, but I've received nothing yet, not even a customs note asking for import duty. If you could post here when you receive yours, UK or otherwise, with Received, your country name and date received in the subject line to keep it quick and clear, I'm sure that would be greatly appreciated by other customers around the world too, and save Conductive being hassled by loads of "Where's my NDLR" type requests.
Thank you!

  Processor
Posted by: Rigs - 11-06-2019, 02:49 AM - Forum: General Support - Replies (3)

Hi All - just interested in what's at the heart of NDLR  - what processor is inside?

Caught one of the early videos which mentions Cortex M0 - but also mentions a possible upgrade for future expansion - what was the final choice?

Thanks

If I sequenced a part on my Keystep could I play it into the NDLR?

  Polyphonic Midi/USB-to-CV/Gate Interface
Posted by: NDLRnoob71 - 11-04-2019, 05:31 AM - Forum: MIDI Connectivity - Replies (7)

Has anyone tried this Doepfer Module ( A-190-5 ) with NDLR to see if they can get the full features of NDLR working with their Eurorack?

Looks great if it would work......not sure I would want to take a $550 AUD chance though.....any advice/info?

Polyphonic Midi/USB-to-CV/Gate Interface
Module A-190-5 is a four voice Midi/USB to CV/Gate interface. For each voice a pitch control voltage (CV1, 1V/octave standard to control VCOs), a gate output (to control envelope generators) and two additional control voltages (CV2, CV3) are available. The two additional CV outputs can be controlled by Midi velocity, volume, modulation, pitch bend, after touch or free assignable Midi controllers.
These modes are planned (without obligation):
four voice monophonic (i.e. to control four monophonic voices by four succeeding Midi channels)
four voice polyphonic (i.e. to control four monophonic voices by one Midi channel) with several sub-modes (e.g. rotating / non-rotating)
two voice polyphonic (i.e. to control two monophonic voices by one Midi channel)
unisono
The basic mode is selected by means of a momentary switch (probably Mode or Algor.) and is shown in the LC display. Certain parameters of each mode can be edited (e.g. the midi channel(s), the midi reference note for 0V CV, assigned controllers for CV2 and CV3). For this the momentary switch Edit/Play is used. The parameter values (e.g. midi channels) are shown in the display and can be modified by means of the momentary switches 1...4. In Play mode the LEDs of these four switches display the gate states.

  New Batch Again
Posted by: Jeet - 11-03-2019, 10:27 AM - Forum: General Support - No Replies

Hello, new here. Contributed in October to get a NDLR. I left questions on the Conductive Labs site about possible ship date, but no response.
I did read on here the recent progress with the newest batch and the news that October contributions will be longer. Do things remain the same? I would just
like to keep up to date as much as possible, so I joined up here. It seems I'm waiting on everything. Waiting on things to ship for the NDLR to control as well.
Thank you.

  Use with Modular (Eurorack)
Posted by: NDLRnoob71 - 11-03-2019, 07:50 AM - Forum: MIDI Connectivity - Replies (5)

Hello there,

I am new to the forum and the NDLR
I have just ordered my NDLR and want to use it with modular gear. Just looking at building my first Eurorack.
I saw in a YT video the NDLR working really well with a Moog Mother 32.
I was just curious as how (if possible) the NDLR would work with modular gear .... specifically does it need to be connected to a sequencer?
and  or what modules will perform well with the NDLR(maybe digital oscillators/filters?) and some of its more complex operations such as LFO manipulation?
Which particular MIDI to CV converter modules are needed or work best and can transmit complex NDLR MIDI info?
Love to know how anyone with Eurorack is implementing NDLR in their current set up for ideas too
Really looking forward to any feedback/info....also links to info or YT videos would be great/helpful.

cheers,

Sebastian

Would Yarns from MI be the perfect answer to MIDI CV for the NDLR?

https://www.modulargrid.net/e/mutable-instruments-yarns

Specs:Yarns is a MIDI interface offering up to 4 channels of CV/Gate conversion, and providing some of the MIDI message mangling features of Mutable Instruments' MIDIpal, including arpeggiator, euclidean sequencer, and a SH-101 inspired step sequencer.

Yarns provides 4 CV outputs and 4 Gate/trigger outputs, which can be assigned to up to 4 voices. In single voice mode, note, velocity, modulation and aftertouch (or other CC) CV are produced, along with a gate, a trigger, and a clock/reset output. In two voices mode, two channel of note, modulation or aftertouch CV are produced, along with two gates, and clock/reset outputs. Finally, in four voices mode, four pairs of CV/Gate outputs are provided.

The 2 and 4-voice modes are available both in a "polyphonic" and "multitimbral" flavour. The former receives chords from one single MIDI channel and dispatches them to the voices; while the later provides independent monophonic parts - which can be addressed to different MIDI channels, keyboard ranges, or even velocity levels. Various note priority modes (low, high, last) and polyphonic allocation schemes (voice-stealing, random, cyclic) allows you to fine-tune the CV/Gate conversion to your playing style. Each voice has a built-in digital LFO to interpret modulation wheel messages as a vibrato; can respond to pitch-bend messages; or can be smoothed with a glide/portamento control - no need for a dedicated module and patches to get the right response from a MIDI keyboard!

Each part can generate sequences either through an arpeggiator/euclidean sequencer combo; or with a SH-101 style sequencer with step-by-step recording, storing up to 64 notes. The module can sync to an external MIDI clock, and generate a clock/reset output at any subdivisions of the MIDI clock.

Other unique features include support for microtunings (either through standard MIDI message or from a selection of historical tunings or indian ragas), just intonation, and an "audio" mode which can transform one, two, or four of the CV outputs into simple digital oscillators.

Inputs/outputs and controls
2-characters 14 segments display for parameter editing.
Clickable encoder.
Sequencer Record/Start-Stop/Tap tempo buttons.
4 CV outputs.
4 Gate/trigger outputs.
Technical characteristics
8kHz CV refresh rate, 48kHz refresh rate in audio mode.
High-end 16-bit DAC and voltage references.
12-points digital compensation curve to compensate for DAC non-linearities, and provide a much greater accuracy than the typical OFFSET/SCALE trimpots. A thorough factory calibration procedure makes Yarns extremely accurate.
Cortex-M3 ARM processor guaranteeing blazingly fast response to MIDI messages, even with a full stack of arpeggiators and sequencers running.
Open-source hardware and firmware.
Firmware updates through MIDI.

Big Grin We did it!
Posted by: Darryl - 10-22-2019, 11:24 AM - Forum: General Support - Replies (7)

Thanks to our contributors on Kickstarter, the MRCC will be a reality! What a great vote of confidence to have it fund in only 7 days! We are humbled by the generous support and and encouragement. Thanks everyone!

Now that the Kickstarter campaign has ended, we are looking at options to continue taking orders. Perhaps we'll do like we did with The NDLR and put MRCC on Indiegogo?
