Exclamation Import fee warning!!!
Posted by: ptiano - 01-26-2020, 11:01 AM - Forum: General Support - Replies (22)

I am almost regretting buying this now... Haven't had the pleasure of playing with it yet. I am in Spain and I had to pay 130 euros in fees just to get it delivered, between national sales tax and import fees. That is almost half the value of the unit itself. I knew I would pay import fees but I thought it would be something reasonable. Now I ended up paying close to 500 euros for this product. That is a lot. It would be nice if you could sort out a European warehouse so the import tax costs could be calculated by whole sale stsndards and not retail, and we (the customer) would not be hit sooooo hard! I am sure most of us in Europe wouldn't have a problem with the price being slightly higher to get it... If it means not getting so screwed like I just did.
Best,
A disgruntled future user.
BTW I am totally looking forward to trying this out but I have a sour taste in my mouth now... I'm sure that'll change once I see how awesome NDLR is.

Not music, but character...custom knobs for my NDLR
Posted by: Smoky - 01-24-2020, 02:49 PM - Forum: Show me what you got! - No Replies

I've been experimenting with custom knobs for my NDLR. I felt it deserved aluminum knobs. I'll be trying more varieties, but this attempt was a success! They look great, are just a hair slimmer than the oem plastic knobs, and have a great feel to them. They do not interfere with the encoder click.

More to come as other knob options arrive.

  MIDI ON/OFF Signals
Posted by: mrnovember - 01-24-2020, 08:20 AM - Forum: Feature Requests - Replies (2)

So I have had the NDLR for a couple weeks now and while it is a great product I have a couple of things that I would love to see implemented:

1) I had a quick review through the forum and have seen this being asked for multiple times, but I'd like to re-iterate how nice it would be to have more control of the MIDI on signal for the Pad and Drone. I would absolutely love if pressing either the play button or any of the chord buttons would send a MIDI on signal and after a user defined (and modulatable) length of time later a MIDI off signal would be sent.
2) not sure if this has been suggested before, but it is similar to number 1. I would love if you could select the number of times the motifs "loop". Essentially so you could press the play or chord button and have the motif arp play all the way through just once (or twice, etc.) and then stop.

Sorry if this is all duplicates of other threads, I just wanted to add my two cents.

Stop Start Continue Sets Motif 1 Vel. to Zero + Screen Refresh Issue
Posted by: Scotty_123 - 01-23-2020, 06:43 PM - Forum: General Support - No Replies

As per the title ...  Motif 1 Velocity settings in Settings 2/3 are reset to 0  with a stop command...  when you are externally clocking the Ndlr.  You won't hear that part unless you increase the Morif 1 Vel Value  OR switch the Motif 1 Accent to Rhy.  Velocity (works here because the note velocities come from the Rhythm velocities NOT the Motif Note Velocity setting).  It resets to zero every time you send a stop when externally clock. You can see this on the menu if you happen to have the menu settings open to page 2/3.

This explains why some people are reporting that Motif 1 is disappearing and won't play. Motif 2 behaves properly as does Pad Velocity (no resets to zero velocity on stop when externally clocked).

Screen Redraw Issue: When sending a CC to a menu item on a page that you have not selected on the NDLR puts in temporary values on the Menu screen that happens to be showing.  These values are not related to the page or menu item where they appear.  You can force a refresh by navigating away from the screen and navigating back to it which shows the correct values once again.  For example enter Humanzie Values via CC but be looking on Menu Settings page 1 or 3 will show values updating on those pages... navigate away and come back and proper values are shown... hopefully this makes sense... this behaviour generalizes across all menu settings when setting via CC and having NDLR on different menu screen - temporary artifacts.

  On/Off switch
Posted by: Smoky - 01-23-2020, 12:15 PM - Forum: Feature Requests - Replies (2)

I wish my NDLR had an on/off switch. I'm not mobile and try to keep my setup tidy. It feels untidy plugging and unplugging the USB cable.

In the meantime, would something like this cause issues on the NDLR? Or should this work ok?

  Desperately seeking an update
Posted by: stephencarr - 01-23-2020, 10:58 AM - Forum: General Support - Replies (2)

I've posted a couple of times on the Kickstarter and emailed the guys as CL and have heard nothing about the status of the MRCC project. I know they are probably busy but as a backer I'd like to have an update as we approach February. Anyone else know what's going on? Hoping they haven't stalled.

Picked up my blue NDLR on Thursday.  Finally figured out Cubase+NDLR enough to post a live mixdown of some random stuff that occupied a MIDI channel or four.  Since I couldn't grok clock with modular yet (I assume I will use disting somehow), I slaved NDLR via clk in from BSP.

Waldorf Q, Boog Model D, Folktek Matter II+root, Erica Pico Drums, Arturia Pigments 2 and BSP, Minilogue.  I don't really know what I'm doing yet, but NDLR is the most fun piece of equipment I've found in decades.  I wish I had this 20 years ago, I wouldn't have lost interest in jamming for 15 years.

Thanks!

ps: I need to visit the CL mothership and pick up four knobs Tongue

Touch Control Near Complete - CC Bugs
Posted by: Scotty_123 - 01-21-2020, 08:12 PM - Forum: General Support - Replies (21)

Firmware 1.1.064 (Experimental Beta)

Hi I have finished my Touch Control Template for the Ndlr...
I have found a couple of bugs  (possibly documentation errors)

Daryl can you confirm for me please:

Pad Midi Channel Assignment CC 17 with a range of 1 to 16 should change the Channel Numbers only ... not the ports and has no impact on the channels.... It is changing the Ports.
Pad Midi Port Assignment CC 19 is working but the range is 0 to 6 not 1 to 7 as mentioned in the Manual.

Motif 1 Midi Channel Assignment cc 22 is changing the Ports not the Channels and corrupting the screen in the Motif 1 area - no channel control is available
Midi Port Port settings are showing odd values in there that don''t pertain to the Midi Port Setting when sending CC 23 value 0 to 6 (also tried 7)

Motif 2 Midi Channel Assignment cc 24 is changing the Ports not the Channels and corrupting the screen in the Motif 2 area - no channel control is available
Midi Port Port settings are showing odd values in there that don''t pertain to the Midi Port Setting when sending CC 25 value 0 to 6 (also tried 7)

When adjusting clock in values using in values 0  to 7  on CC 68 - the clock in updates perfectly but it also modifies the MOTIF 1 values on menu page 1/3

=====================================================================================

There is no CC available for a global Stop, Start, Continue (not sure why this isn't available) would be nice I think unless there is a technical reason that I can't imagine that we wouldn't want this.  I'd be happy with a CC that did the same thing as pressing the top left ALL button.  Am I missing something?

I'd like to post screenshots of what I have done but the forum doesn't seem to allow it despite their being an option to add attachments.

Pad not playing correct amount of notes
Posted by: superisk - 01-21-2020, 03:59 AM - Forum: General Support - Replies (5)

Hey NDLR's,

Sorry if this is a stupid question with a simple answer, but i have 5 notes selected on the Pad and it's only sending out 2 note/partial chords. I've written a sequence using the triad buttons on the NDLR. I've tested this with a hardware and software synth and i get the same 2 note/partial chords.

Any ideas please?!
