  midi problem
Posted by: base99 - 08-18-2021, 05:50 AM - Forum: General Support - Replies (2)

hi,
I have strange thing with the ndlr which I don't understand.
Maybe anyone can give me a hint in which direction my problem is located?

problem:
I am using the ndlr with a miditech pianobox (GM-MIDI soundbox) pro via midi port a. the midibox has a big poti to change the different instruments.
When the ndlr is playing I can't change the instruments with the big poti. I can turn the poti and I see in the display of the pianobox that the instrument
changed but the sound is remaining the same.
when the ndlr is stopped it is the same. the pianobox is blocked in some way.
If I switch the midi cable from the ndlr to endorphines ground control then I can switch the instruments on the pianobox during the play.

I don't understand what can cause this problem?
I have checked the ndlr manual but I don't find anything suitable.

any ideas?

Thanks,
base99

Music Convinced a person to get an NDLR with this video~
Posted by: V_of_Londor - 08-18-2021, 04:26 AM - Forum: Show me what you got! - No Replies

Hi, I got my NDLR a couple of weeks ago and I've been having so much fun with both hardware and virtual instruments.
I started sharing some of my jams on youtube and one of the videos convinced another synth lover to get an NDLR as well!

Here's the video:

  Chord changes on the bar?
Posted by: natehorn - 08-18-2021, 12:42 AM - Forum: General Support - Replies (1)

Hi folks. I'm new to NDLR still finding my way around. The one thing I seem to be struggling to find an answer to or get right is timed chord changes. I have a simple 4/4 drum beat and want the chord changes to be quantised to the bar - similar to how a lot of transpose features work in sequencers. I see some basic quantisation settings for the pad in the settings menu but can't figure out how to get chord changes to be in sync with anything.

I found an old forum post about bar quantisation for pads that the devs said would be easy to implement but that was in 2018 and I don't see anything like that.

Thanks!

Also another issue I'm having is that the clock seems quite off. I'm using Ableton as the master via a Digitakt, the Digitakt sits at a rock solid 80bpm, sent to the NDLR via it's MIDI in. But the NDLR varies from anywhere between 81 - 85bpm - it's not even that close.

I've tried changing to receiving clock via USB so it gets it straight from Ableton but that only improves it slightly it still wants to be at around 83bpm. Same with receiving clock via the CLK IN via Pam

Everything sitting at a solid 80bpm but the NDLR is wavering between 80-85 - it's all over the place.

Is this a fault?

Another edit! The clock issue seems to have been resolved by turning the unit off and on again. Must have had an extra 5bpm stuck in the ether!

probability and random on arpeggiator output

That about says it. hah - i suppose there are convoluted ways of setting that up, but I like it to work more directly.

  Separate Port&Channel for Arpeggiator ctrl
Posted by: pgoergen - 08-16-2021, 05:14 AM - Forum: MRCC Feature Requests - No Replies

I really like the arpeggiator but I would like to control it from a different controller than from the keyboard I send the Midi notes to be arpeggiated.
Would it be possible to add a setting for a separate Port & Channel to control the arpeggiator that would really be great and more flexible.

  confused by arpeggiator

How do you turn it off?

As far as I understand it, if the arpeggiator play is set to off (which should be the pause sign) and the latch is set to off, it shouldn't play.

But it is still playing. I don't get it. The play key doesn't seem to turn it off. the latch key seems to work (although I was puzzled by its behavior).

Now that I've tested the arpeggiator, i want to stop it and go back to my regular routing. But it is still arpeggiating. What am I missing? the play is set to the pause sign (have tried both) and the latch is off.

Obviously i can change the routing, or set the clock to an external one, or turn off the internal clock, but I suspect that I'm missing something more basic.

Lightbulb Highlight selected row
Posted by: User - 08-15-2021, 03:15 PM - Forum: MRCC Feature Requests - No Replies

There are a lot of dots on the screen, we know it. But one simple enhancement could help to understand what is going on. When select button (for example for MIDI IN 1), the row could be highlighted (for a moment or permanent). It's just for pressing MRCC buttons, not for midi signals.

Sad Maximum number of routings
Posted by: User - 08-15-2021, 03:11 PM - Forum: Hardware MIDI Connectivity - Replies (1)

Today I try connect not only portable setup, but also some studio synths.
I used 3 DIN inputs, 2 USB inputs (sequencers and controllers) and 5 DIN/TRS outputs (synths).

I need create routing between all controller and all synths (all to all). Before you ask - yes, it make sense, because sometimes I use two sequencers to control one mono synth, and sometimes I use one sequencer to control few sytnths (in example Keystep Pro). Another example is knobs controller - it's used for all devices in different ways.

When I created 26 routings, it didn't allow me to add any new routing. IS THAT LIMIT FOR MRCC? It's not large setup, there are still 3 empty inputs and 7 outputs...  There was even no any modifier.

  NDLR and Keystep
Posted by: Lifetool - 08-14-2021, 05:21 PM - Forum: Hardware MIDI Connectivity - No Replies

Been looking to get my Keystep and NDLR to work together and can't quite figure it out. I may be missing something to get them to communicate. Any help in this matter would be greatly appreciated!
