  Chord sequencer feedback
Posted by: mfreer - 12-01-2019, 07:18 AM - Forum: General Support - Replies (19)

Hi Guys,

I managed to get some time this weekend to have a good play with the NDLR and have been having lots of fun.
In particular I got to put the Chord sequencer though it's paces. I hit a couple of issues that I'm hoping you can help with:

1. There doesn't seem to be a way to reset the chord sequence back to start. For example, if I have only the Pad part playing a chord sequence, then stop the Pad part before the chord sequence has completed, any attempt to restart the Pad part will resume from the point in the chord sequence that it was stopped. This behaviour is problematic if you want to restart your song from the beginning. Is there currently a way to reset the chord sequence back to the start?

2. The Chord sequence seems to loop indefinitely.  For example, if I have configured a song to have one section (e.g. A:1) the NDLR will continually repeat this section until the user explicitly stops playback of all parts. It would be really nice if there was a way to specify that song playback should stop when the chord sequence has reached it's end (rather than looping).

Hopefully this feedback is helpful. Thanks once again for building this fantastic tool.

  internal clock not working
Posted by: rob-ant - 12-01-2019, 12:57 AM - Forum: General Support - Replies (1)

Hello. For some reason my ndlr has stopped sending any midi when on 'internal' under settings page 3. Nothing plays, nothing receives midi (Ableton or synths) though all the parts light up blue. When I switch this to usb1 and trigger from Ableton, it works over usb and midi. As far as I can tell, I've not changed anything. Any suggestions greatly appreciated.

  Clock out blocks midi?
Posted by: seanH - 11-30-2019, 02:55 PM - Forum: General Support - Replies (4)

I'm trying to simultaneously send a clock out (to Malekko Varigate 8+) while also sending midi to treadstone). I can get both to work, just not at the same time. Whenever I plug a jack into clock out, the midi stops. Is this not a supported scenario? Any ideas how I can get this working?

Thanks.

Sean.

  Timing specs/precision
Posted by: FlavioB - 11-30-2019, 04:08 AM - Forum: General Support - Replies (18)

Hi all!
Would it be possible to share the timing measurements for this unit's routing function?
Like sending a pure MIDI clock signal (please check with an oscilloscope that it is *very* neat!) and then measure on the MIDI outputs how the signal looks like (delay, jitter, ripple, ground noise/offset, voltage and current).
I'm struggling in finding such a MIDI router which really does not deteriorate too much the MIDI clock signal...

Thanks,
F.

  What’s saved into a preset ?
Posted by: crony - 11-29-2019, 01:26 PM - Forum: General Support - Replies (4)

Hello,
I’m about to get a ndlr, and wonder if midi channels and configuration is fully saved into each preset ? (assigned modulations and so on...)
I’m asking that because I’d like to switch fast between configurations of my gears.
If not the case, would that be a feature request ?
I’m aware there’s not so much free space, but I’d rather have less presets but with full configuration of the ndlr.
Would a « save with all internal settings » parameter makes sense ?

I couldn’t find anything about that into the manual...
Thanks for your feedback Smile

Arm on Start // Sync with Minilogue XD
Posted by: Andrevon - 11-26-2019, 04:54 AM - Forum: General Support - Replies (1)

Hello!

I first wanna say thanks to the team for this amazing piece of fun! Still learning the basics but definitely happy with my purchase.

I have 2 questions.

1. My Octatrack is master, Ndlr the slave. Each time I hit stop on the OT, it disarms all the ndlr voices (doesn't apply if I hit play again to pause on the OT). I've read here in the forum that this is an expected behavior, but is there a workaround to always keep in memory which voices are armed, no matter if the stop button has been pressed?

While composing, I feel a bit annoyed to always re-arm everything...

2. The Ndlr is master, the Sunthtrom Deluge is slave and send the ndlr Pad to the Minilogue XD on channel 3. It works. But the ML doesn't seem to synchronize its lfo. I mean, the lfo is running on the good time division and according to the clock, but starts randomly offtime from the beat (hope it is clear...)
I send the Drone the same way to the Waldorf Rocket on channel 1, and the lfo is perfectly synchronized, so I think my settings are ok.
Some help would be very welcome!

Thanks

Another day another Behringer synth! Poly D announced
Posted by: Darryl - 11-25-2019, 02:56 PM - Forum: Synths and Gear News, Discussion - No Replies

Looks like a great take and feature expansion on the classic model D. Seems acceptable as Moog no longer makes the D, but if they did still make it, I would personally be very uncomfortable with someone copying it. Hoping they make a desktop version, I don't have room for more keyboards!

  Encoder behaviour is imprecise
Posted by: Almost Aviation - 11-25-2019, 12:18 PM - Forum: General Support - Replies (1)

Hello all.

Just got my NDLR today, have printed the manual and had an introductory fiddle hooked up to my iPad. My absolute first impression is disappointment with how the encoders behave. I see it mentioned elsewhere here, but basically the values skip or lag unpredictably on most (all?) encoder functions. Taking as a simple example selecting the MIDI channel for any given output in the settings page, I would expect a single click of the encoder to reliably change the value up or down by one step. It doesn't - sometimes it's one, sometimes two, sometimes none. Same behaviour on every function I have tried so far.

Flight simmers will be reminded of the dreaded Saitek radio panels  Sad

  Chord sequencer
Posted by: rob-ant - 11-25-2019, 07:54 AM - Forum: General Support - Replies (4)

Afternoon All. I'm getting on well with the ndlr, incredible machine. I've found it very straightforward to use apart from the chord sequencer which I cant get my head around though have made several attempts. Id be really grateful if someone could offer step by step instructions or upload a video?

Thanks

Rob
