  Chord sequencer
Posted by: rob-ant - 11-25-2019, 07:54 AM - Forum: General Support - Replies (4)

Afternoon All. I'm getting on well with the ndlr, incredible machine. I've found it very straightforward to use apart from the chord sequencer which I cant get my head around though have made several attempts. Id be really grateful if someone could offer step by step instructions or upload a video?

Thanks

Rob

  Buttons not working properly
Posted by: triscus - 11-25-2019, 07:02 AM - Forum: General Support - Replies (9)

Hello Noodlers,

just received my NDLR, super fast shipping, thanks for that.

I just had a quick look and noticed the buttons 6 + 7 (for Menu 1 + 2) had to be pressed really hard to function. Just pressing until the encoder clicks does nothing. It's working, but it's a bit annoying.

Anything I can do about it? Not sure if I want to return it. I probably have to pay around 80€ for the for the customs fee again, which is quiet steep.

Cheers

Triscus

  Creative Randomness
Posted by: branch - 11-23-2019, 10:02 PM - Forum: Feature Requests - Replies (5)

The short of it: add musical randomisation wherever possible. For example, the pattern
editor could benefit from random pattern generation. Feel free to comment with a NDLR feature that could use a randomize button.

  NDLR clones / scam?

Hi guys,

thought of flagging a reddit post, someone found the NDLR going for $70 from an unknown company, Plattermoon:
https://www.reddit.com/r/synthesizers/co...cam_right/

and this is the "product" page:
https://www.plattermoon.top/collections/...rpeggiator

the amount of imposters nowadays..

  Power Requirements
Posted by: mjchase - 11-18-2019, 12:43 PM - Forum: General Support - Replies (2)

Hi Darryl and Steve,

I'm planning on putting my MRCC on my pedalboard. In the hopes of having less power connections to make, I'm hoping the MRCC could draw power from the power supply I already have on the board. Do you guys know what the power draw might be and if it could run off a 400 mA 9V connection?

And a followup: the MRCC should be able to power something like the Squarp Pyramid sequencer (https://squarp.net/pyramid), which is powered by a 5V 500mA mini USB connection?

Thanks!

  Sync with MPC Live
Posted by: Rastapoef - 11-14-2019, 02:48 PM - Forum: MIDI Connectivity - Replies (4)

I'm having trouble syncing the NDLR.

When MPC is master, the NDLR seems to keep its own clock but running at the incoming pace, and adjust it constantly to get in sync, like a DJ with turntables, nudging, a little faster, a little slower, etc., you can clearly see it happening watching the tempo indicator. Sometimes it just dropped to 3/4 speed when starting, totally mismatching.

The other way around, which I don't want because then the MPC can't select (and store) the patches for my synths, doesn't sync nicely either. First it was receiving double midi or something, through the interconnected USB cable which I thought I was just using for power. It was running 2 times too fast. Anyway, at the right tempo, it's not tight at all.

Uhm...  Undecided
The unit should be able to be a tight midi slave, right?

Hmm I've been reading up on the MPC Live midi clock history. On the interweb. That's not hopeful.
I'm running a recent enough firmware for the known issues to be fixed....
That wobbly clock is probably courtesy of MPC Live.

There goes my plan for this little setup  Sad

  Negative Modulation Amounts
Posted by: manateemilitia - 11-14-2019, 02:20 PM - Forum: Feature Requests - Replies (3)

This'd be handy for example if you wanted the velocities of two Motifs to modulate opposite of one another or have the ranges of two parts shift to opposing octaves and back to the same octave. Also just for negative unipolar modulation in general.

  Pattern memory
Posted by: rob-ant - 11-14-2019, 11:56 AM - Forum: General Support - Replies (4)

My ndlr arrived 3 days ago. It's an amazing piece of kit - inspiring, creative, saves me having to learn how to play keyboard which is clearly never going to happen, it's simple yet complex and immediate but this is also the problem. The one concern I had when I ordered was the very limited memory and/or inability to dump patterns. I have already saved 3 patterns and will very quickly fill the 8 provided.

I appreciate I can just record into my DAW and have done this but then I can't upload that so am stuck with whatever I've done so loose that immediacy.

Please can someone explain the reasoning/philosophy behind this? It's such a basic function and need. I realise this has been discussed before but I still don't understand why.

Thanks

Rob

  Generous sharers of grooves?
Posted by: MrPipes - 11-11-2019, 05:33 AM - Forum: Advanced Features - Replies (1)

I have only had my ndlr for a week or so...

So please forgive me if this is muddle headed

But would some relaxed and generous souls mind sharing just a simple phone photo of any interesting Rhythm or Patterns you have had fun with?

I’d be intrigued to see what a Reggae rhythm actually looks like for instance...or maybe a funky disco bass line pattern

Just as a starting point...thank you
