Thumbs Up MRCC USB Host Port - Intellijel Metropolix
Posted by: Mick - 02-23-2022, 12:42 PM - Forum: Hardware MIDI Connectivity - Replies (3)

One for the compatibility list, the new Intellijel Metropolix firmware 1.4 which now provides a MIDI out over USB works, no problems on the MRCC host ports.

Whilst I am here, as others have already said the OXI one is not working over USB.

Lights remain lit when turned on
Posted by: Donic Dawkins - 02-22-2022, 06:33 PM - Forum: General Support - Replies (1)

Hello - new owner of the MRCC as of a couple weeks -

When I turn the unit on, between 1 and 4 LEDs towards the right end of the unit (MIDI Out LEDs) remain lit at an eye piercingly bright level Huh.  I have to restart it several times in a row before it "fixes" itself, meaning without any of the ultra bright LEDs in my face.  Seriously, so bright it puts a shadow of my body on the ceiling.   To be clear, these are LEDs underneath ports with nothing plugged into them, so they should be completely dim. I'm not trying to adjust the overall brightness of the unit's LEDs. And it's not the same LEDs every time, or amount. Sometimes 1, sometimes 4,

I updated firmware on weekend, but that didn't fix it.    What are my next steps?   return it to Perfect Circuit?

thanks,
Matt

using angled MIDI cables with MRCC
Posted by: lemel - 02-17-2022, 05:31 PM - Forum: Hardware MIDI Connectivity - Replies (6)

After some searching, I finally found good low-profile angled MIDI cables that are oriented in the correct direction for use with MRCC. Pictures below, for anyone who might find this useful. Manikin brand, in three different lengths: 0.5, 1, and 2 meters. I purchased through Thomann. Might even be a good candidate for a bundled accessory?

  MRCC MIDI input 6 use
Posted by: QuattroP - 02-17-2022, 11:18 AM - Forum: Hardware MIDI Connectivity - Replies (3)

Hi,

Is anyone using the 6th MIDI input on the MRCC? I got my hands on TRS to DIN MIDI cable type A so I tried using the 6th input for the first time. I tried with some synths, connecting the DIN end to them and with the TRS end going into the 6th input. Whatever I do I'm not getting any input in.

What am I doing wrong?

Thanks!

  Conductive Labs Situation
Posted by: branch3s - 02-16-2022, 04:57 AM - Forum: General Support - Replies (1)

Does anyone know the current situation with Conductive Labs - are they still in business? I sent a NDLR to them for repair over 2 weeks ago, they acknowledged receipt of the item but I've heard nothing since. I've sent them 3 emails through their support portal which have been ignored and as they don't publish contact numbers anywhere there's no way of getting in touch. What sort of company is this?

  NDLR sold out everywhere!!
Posted by: manusf - 02-15-2022, 11:14 AM - Forum: General Support - Replies (4)

Hello guys,
The NDLR looks pretty fun!
Unfortunately, it seems impossible to buy. All the places that I found are sold out.
For now, I''m checking Reverb if I can found an used one but no luck so far.

Does someone know a place where I can order it? (preferably in the United States)
When can I expect to to see stocks back ?

  Issue with clock
Posted by: bangkokbanger - 02-14-2022, 01:37 AM - Forum: MIDI Connectivity - Replies (9)

Can someone help with my issue

Here it is

I'm trying to connect a sequencer (deluge) to the ndlr using using deluge as master clock .

The issue I found is when I connect a drum machine to this setup i can't seem to sync the transport on the drum machine. It's running at 300rpm! (Syncs fine when connected direct to the deluge though)

I seem to be getting some midi feedback loop or similar

Can someone provide a solution?

Here is my setup now:-

1. Deluge midi out to ndlr midi A in.
I want to control the ndlr from the deluge and program notes etc on the deluge. I can get this to work as long as I don't add a drum machine/groovebox into the midi chain (see below)

Midi Chain

2. Ndlr clock set to ndlr midi A (thats from the deluge) and ndlr pad set to midi 1, drone to 2, motof 1 to 3, motif 4 to 4.
3. Ndlr midi A out to midi splitter box (to split the midi to the synths and drum machine)
4. Midi splitter out channel 1 (pad) to synth A, channel 2 (drone) to synth B , Channel 3 (motif 1) to drum machine channel 3, and channel 4 (motif 2) to drum machine channel 4
5. Synths all work fine but the drum machine won't sync with the transport from the deluge . Its runs at 300rpm! Taking the ndlr or the midi splitter out the chain removes the issue so it's nothing unexpected .

So there appears to be an issue with clock where more than 2 sequencers are in the mix.

Any idea how to fix much appreciated

MRCC Freezes if USB-powered Polyend Tracker turned off
Posted by: DevNull - 02-10-2022, 01:07 AM - Forum: General Support - Replies (3)

Hello,

I have a Polyend Tracker that I have connected to the MRCC by one of the USB ports.  It's been working just fine since I got it to power the Tracker and route USB MIDI.

Just today I accidentally maxed out my RAM on my PC and got a BSOD which seemed to cause my MRCC to freeze up for some reason.  I restarted the MRCC, but it froze with the last LED light on the right unlit.  It would show up to the PC as a USB MIDI device, but would not show anything on the screen or respond to any buttons on the front panel, and none of the MIDI routing was working.

I flashed the latest firmware (v1.1.035_09-20-2021) but that didn't solve the issue.

I removed all of my MIDI devices from the MRCC, and it started booting up successfully.  One by one I reconnected each device until I reconnected the Tracker via USB, which stopped the MRCC from booting.

It appears that now when I have the Tracker connected while the MRCC starts up, the MRCC will again get frozen with the last light unlit, and the screen and buttons non-responsive.  If I disconnect the Tracker and power on the MRCC, it boots just fine.  And sometimes if I power on the Tracker while the MRCC is still booting up it will load correctly and not freeze.

As soon as I connect the unpowered Tracker to a USB port the MRCC freezes up again and will remain frozen until I power on the Tracker, at which point the MRCC starts working again.

It seems that if at any point the Tracker is connected but not powered on, the MRCC just completely freezes up.  This is definitely a new development.

Oh, and should flashing the latest firmware wipe out my presets? I lost my 'User 1' preset at some point in all this.

  Octave transpose?
Posted by: acemonvw - 02-08-2022, 11:56 AM - Forum: MRCC Feature Requests - Replies (5)

I've been increasingly frustrated with the number of 61 key keyboards I have with NO OCTAVE TRANSPOSE buttons.

I wonder if it would be possible to implement something where you can add a binding to a particular input, and shift its output up or down 12 semitones, where you could implement it by pressing the black button and one of the white buttons for up or down 12 semitones...

Not sure it's possible, and I get that this. could be feature creeping - but for sure I'd love to be able to utilize non-octave transposing synths as main controllers with this function.

Is it at all possible? Or just a dream...

Thanks

  Start Screen: Load Preset
Posted by: starfish - 02-04-2022, 03:33 PM - Forum: MRCC Feature Requests - Replies (1)

To me the ACTIVITY screen is one of the most useless screens of MRCC because the content is just too tiny. A matter of taste, but in general it would be great if MRCC could remember the screen that was active before switching off – or allow a user definable start screen.

My personal preference would be a simple and clear LOAD PRESET screen: just turn the dial and press it to confirm. No fiddly up/down button presses in between.
