MIDI I/O
- Inputs = 4x 5-pin DIN, 1x 3.5mm TRS type A (shared with DIN input 1, use one)
- Outputs = 1x 5-pin DIN, 1x 3.5mm TRS type A (thru)
- USB = 4 USB MIDI virtual inputs & 1 virtual output
Modes
- MRCC expander / MIDI interface – each DIN input goes to its own USB MIDI virtual cable; MIDI sent to the USB output plays out the DIN and 3.5mm jacks
- MIDI merge – the 4 DIN inputs merge to the DIN and TRS outputs; USB only supplies power. Select with the Mode button
Use with MRCC
- Up to 4 XpandRs on the MRCC’s 4 USB host ports
- Routed exactly like MRCC USB host virtual ports
- Maximum USB 2.0 cable length: 5 m (16.5 ft)

Indicators
- Dim blue: power, MRCC expander/MIDI interface mode
- Flashing blue: MIDI output activity
- Dim red: MIDI merger mode
- Flashing red: MIDI input activity
- Clock ticks blink slowly (1 per 24); no blink for SysEx
