MRCC Cubase Mac - H2 Save settings
#1
Hi, just acquired MRCC.

Ive spent hours searching for step by step instructions for setting up MRCC with a MAC (explaining what if anything to do in Apple Midi Setup) and then with Cubase.

Have spent many hours trying to do what seemed sensible adding my gear and connecting it to the MRCC in Apple Midi Setup, only to find out every time you turn off the Mac or MRCC everything is lost and effectively a new MRCC is shown in Apple Midi ignoring everything set up - so no chance to set up in Apple Midi and for that to flow through in to Cubase.

Next up, the 12 ports are listed as midi ports so eventually worked out how to use those and get the things I wanted connected up connected. I rename the MRCC ports to what they are, e.g. Nord ND3, Key Step Pro, Melodicer, Vocoder etc. Create a new Cubase template to save all that, only to find nothing is saved. and so a list of very unhelpful MRCC x12 is listed.

I've finally sussed out the connections of midi devices to the PC port (my Mac) however, I cant see those listed in cubase or Apple Midi setup.

Sooo I could do with some help on:

1. how to get the mapping of the 12 MRCC ports to have meaningful names that I don't have to retype in to every session (whether that's done in Apple Midi and or Cubase)

2. Beyond being able to connect USB ports to the PC/Mac,  2. where/how do I also find and name them as Cubase wasn't listing them... are these IAC devices?

3. I also want to provide Midi Beat Clock to some effect pedals so that they sync to the Cubase Tempo - If anyone has a simple explanation for setting that up I'd also appreciate that

Apologies for asking but none of this is shown in the videos as far as I can see and no one seems to have done a MRCC / Cubase / Mac set up walkthrough video on YouTube that I can find???

Much appreciated.

Andrew
