NDLR + Circlon
#11
I have been using the NDLR as a stand-alone "sequencer" (of sorts), but I think its real power and versatility comes to the fore when it's incorporated as part of a larger system. To this end I have been using an external sequencer to randomize the chord degree whilst sending CC messages separately to change chord type. My sequencer of choice so far has been the Arturia BeatStep although I have used the Korg SQ-1 with some success). My next upgrade will probably be to the BeatStep Pro and/or KeyStep. I like the idea of sequencing certain passages but allowing others to be less deterministic (within reason). I think by allowing the external sequencer to hand off control to the NDLR (and vice-versa) allows some melodic themes to be enhanced.

I've also been playing around with micro-controllers to randomize the chord degree messages by seeding a Random Number Generator with a light detector. This has definitely led to some happy accidents Smile
