OP here,
Can confirm that in my instance of WinXP SP3, MRCC shows up in both the Device Manager and in Cubase VST 5r2 (a licensed copy w/ parallel port dongle).
In the MIDI devices of Cubase, I can see things like
When I set up MIDI Clock to transmit to USB_AUDIO_Device, I can route it to an external hardware sequencer to send START/STOP commands, and sync it to Cubase's tempo/
When I transmit notes to USB_AUDIO_Device, I observe note data coming into the MRCC.
I am able to route MIDI from USB_AUDIO_Device to one of the MIDI DIN outs, and trigger notes on the external connected to the MIDI DIN out.
Success!
However, where I'm not certain is that in the Device Manager, I have a single yellow Unknown Device item named MRCC (computer>Other Devices>MRCC in the Device Manager).
In spite of things working, I'm interested in either doing whatever needed to make the Unknown Device item to go away, or understanding why it's there and ignoring it.
Any thoughts?
Thanks
Nick
