Midi clock sync with iPad pro
#2
Hello, so your audio interface is connected by its USB port to the iPad through a dongle? And there's no PC connected? Is it a modern iPad? Apple likes to slow down the system when the battery starts losing capacity. You can turn that off, but when the battery gets too bad the iPad might spontaneously shut off.

I'm not sure the MRCC would make a difference in this case. An audio interface's MIDI is pretty direct and doesn't do any processing on the MIDI data. So that should not introduce any noticeable jitter outside of what is common for the device's operating system. It may be there is just too much going on in the iPad? Maybe try closing everything and check the clock with a utility like MidiBus or MidiWrench. I haven't tried MidiBus but the reviews say it can fix MIDI sync issues and it's pretty cheap.
