I just bought a NDLR today (my second), and it was still on very old firmare but working. I applied the latest, and it boots up, shows the splash s creen with the 1.1.86 version, and then the screen goes black. Tried reflashing it a couple of times, but same problem each time :-(

NM a factory reset was all that was needed. Leaving this post here in case others find it useful.

Ran into the same issues after an upgrade to 1.1.86. Booting with Shift/Menu pressed allowed me to do the factory reset. Probably would be a good idea to add this information to the Troubleshooting section on the Update page.
