Max routes limit (44 routes)

I'm just curious if I'm the only one who thinks this limit is NOT acceptable. It doesn't seem to be a frequently discussed topic. 
Because of this, the MRCC is unusable for me in the studio (I've already replaced it with the mioXL). 
Are 44 routes (including expanders) really enough for everyone? I don't get it.

We don’t talk about it because it’s not likely anything will get fixed. We’ve lost hope. I think whoever built the MRCC software is long gone.

What do you think of the mioXL? Do you find the lack of buttons and an lcd to be limiting? I may make a switch at some point because my studio is very static and once I set everything up I don’t really need to make changes.
