Knob is stiff while turning
#1
My new MRCC is great, except when I am turning the knob to do various tasks, it gets to a rotation point and becomes very stiff.  I turn past it and it eventually stops being stiff.  Turning it backwards, it becomes stiff again.  Does this happen to anyone else?

Not in front of mine, but it sounds like maybe the knob was fastened off-center. Look at it from the side to see if one part of the knob is lower than the other.
I forget if it is a push-on or a set-screw. If a push on, the actual pot shaft may be bent. If a set screw, loosen the set screw, readjust the knob, and tighten.

Yep, that's it. I see white along a part of the button edge that is scraping along the bottom right side and can see the white plastic residue from the button.  I figure I can probably wiggle it a little to loosen it since there isn't a set screw.
