Control change\CC on USB OUT to hardware? - Midihooker - 09-14-2025

Hi guys I’m not currently have a device that takes CC from it’s USB port but looking at one. I just needs the thumbs up from this forum to get one..
So it’s really made to be controlled from a DAW, obviously.
Does it apply the same when controlled the same when controlled from my hardware sequencer that can send midi CCs?

Thanks

What device are you taking about?

It’s a Roland vt-3 vocoder. It is only interested for me if I can control it with midi. It has every parameter locked to CCs but only over usb.

I see. If it is proper USB MIDI, then it should likely work. But it might not work. There is a thread with and spreadsheet with existing compatibility knowledge collected from users.

Ouch, it seems you are likely out of luck

"No, the Roland VT-3 Voice Transformer is not class-compliant for audio transmission; it requires a dedicated driver for its USB audio and MIDI functionality when connecting to a computer, which is detailed in the user manual or on the Roland website. While it offers USB audio and MIDI capabilities, the lack of "class compliance" means it doesn't appear as a standard, generic audio device to the computer and needs a specific driver to operate correctly"

hmm yes you’re probably right.. though it only says audio. But won’t take a chance. I have a vt-4 that has standard midi. But most parameters are hidden behind sysex. My sequencer don’t do that. Can’t understand why they make syservice controllers in this day day and age!
thanks for your reply

Any suggestion on any fun effects with good midi control?

Like resonators and Vocoder’s in particular.I’m thinking of building a small modular system just for this purpose

Sorry, no idea.
