Chord Sequencer - add generative possibilities? - Rigs - 03-28-2019 Chord Sequencer - add generative possibilities? As you are putting together (hopefully) the Chord Sequencer - would it be possible to add in random / probability parameters as you've done elsewhere - and in particular generative options, from gentle actions, all the way through to downright wacky. This would add a super new dimension to this great machine. We totally love the idea of having generative algorithms built in. We are looking into how to implement this. However even with our affinity for this we’re not sure will be able to get it in. Thanks for the encouragement will do the best we can! If you allow patterns to modify pattern values then you can set up generative sequences where one pattern is transposing/shifting another (or not) based on adding the step value of the modifier to the target step value at any given time. By using one or more patterns as modifiers for pattern values plus modulation for pattern length, rhythm, etc I would think you'd get a lot of happy accidents/variations, but still controllable/repeatable. For reference/reading, pull down the FutureRetro Zillion manual and/or find the old Tridex Muse document. They do it based on (essentially) binary counters plus a multi-tap sequenced queue that allows feedback. |
