  CLOWN

They traveled down chevron roads.

Thru the window, we saw them.

Those parking lot philosophers!

Armchair psychologist!

Clowns, with their painted faces, looking as if they were
lost to the world of sleep.

Even St. Peter was caught snoring in the Garden of Agony.

All music was created from various modules in VCV Rack and from various softsynths, all controlled by the NDLR, then edited in Logic Pro X.
All video was created from various copyright-free clips from the Internet Archive website, then further manipulated using the @Hyperspektiv app, all the Edited in iMovie.

  Pattern not saved?
Posted by: rotur - 01-15-2021, 05:45 AM - Forum: General Support - Replies (4)

Hi all,
New owner here.
Thought I followed the manual in saving my pattern which saved to slot 21 and the yellow saved screen appeared to confirm. And yet when I restarted the unit and went to retrieve the pattern (Shift + Enc 1 + slot 21) I got nothing ...
I'm sure I've missed something here but Inow  cannot retrieve my work from earlier today
Please advise

  NDLR 2.0 ?
Posted by: Carlbark - 01-09-2021, 01:50 PM - Forum: Feature Requests - Replies (5)

Hi!

I have seen many feature requests being answered with the device being almost out of flash memory, meaning the feature might not be possible to add due to hardware limitations.
As it stands currently, four encoders shift-pages are unused, and two of them even have printed labes (settings 4 and 5). How will they be expanded given the memory constraints?

Will there be a hardware revision with more memory to allow future expansion? Will existing owners be able to buy a memory addon? Are you planning a new version all together with perhaps more alterations (a larger screen, less clicky buttons, capacity sensitive encoders perhaps?)? I understand you are busy finishing the MRCC but it does make sense continuing building the NDLR platform after that as you already have a very engaged and happy customer base. Perhaps you can even offer a small discount to previous backers for the new version should you use i.e. kickstarter.

Pause chord change on single part?
Posted by: Durwin - 01-02-2021, 08:44 PM - Forum: General Support - Replies (3)

Hi there,

Just wondering if it's possible to have one part (drone or otherwise) stay on a particular chord while the other 3 parts shift?

ie the drone part stays on the I chord, and the pad and motif parts shift as I either sequence or press other chords?

Cheers

  Randomize

Hello,
Really loving the NDLR, so much fun!

Forgive me if this has already been requested. I went through the forum and couldn't find anything, but I could have missed it.

It would be great to have a randomize feature for the patterns and rhythms.

Maybe there's a trick or hidden function for this already?

External Clock Over USB - Many Hanging Notes?
Posted by: bharris - 01-01-2021, 02:56 PM - Forum: MIDI Connectivity - No Replies

Hi Everyone,

I connected my NDLR to my Eurorack system for the first time today, and had a question about external clock into the NDLR.  I have the NDLR connected via USB to an Expert Sleepers FH-2, which acts as a USB MIDI host (among many other useful functions).  The FH-2 sends MIDI clock (either generated by the FH-2 or a connected Pamela's New Workout) out through its USB port.  Currently, the clock goes from the FH-2 to an Arturia Keystep with no problem.  The FH-2 receives MIDI over USB and converts it to CV, which then goes out to Eurorack.

When I connected the NDLR to the FH-2, it did start and stop the NDLR and controlled the NDLR clock no problem.  However, when I started a motif to generate some notes and pressed buttons to move that motif around to different chords/scale degrees, the motif notes would hang regularly within 10 seconds of the part starting.  This happened every time.

I currently have the NDLR set to receive MIDI clock on port #USB1, and it sends MIDI notes on port #USB1, as well.  Could this be the problem?  I could try to run the Pamela's New Workout directly to the clock in port of the NDLR, but am trying to avoid using another cable if possible.

Thanks in advance for your thoughts!

  Further Explorations with the NDLR

Some Drones !

Pad & Drone in E-Minor

Pad & Motif in E-Minor

Pad & Motif in E-Locrian

Particularly like this one as nobody really uses Locrian mode much because of the nasty flat V chord

Some others in a more 'conventional' key and mode

Two Motifs in A-Major

Some downtempo / uptempo Drum & Bass noodling

Downtempo Drum & Bass in G-Major

Uptempo Drum & Bass in Eb-Major

Definitely having a lot of fun putting these together. Do let me know what you think!

  Reaper and NDLR
Posted by: bharris - 12-29-2020, 09:27 AM - Forum: General Support - Replies (2)

Hi everyone,

I am trying to set up my newish NDLR for use in Reaper, and was hoping someone here can help me with the following:

     1)  I would like to send clock from NDLR to Reaper.  When I change the tempo on NDLR, however, I do not see the tempo in Reaper changing.  How can I get Reaper to receive and respond to external MIDI clock?

     2)  I would like the Reaper transport to start and stop when I press the master play/stop button on the NDLR.  Can someone please advise how I can set this up?  I have tried assigning the main play button in Reaper to the NDLR master play/stop button on NDLR using the Actions menu, but it appears to assign notes within Channel 15 (the NDLR control channel) to the Reaper play button depending on the motifs that are going at the time.

Thanks in advance for your help!

Exclamation Cracked Screen
Posted by: iSapien1956672 - 12-29-2020, 06:57 AM - Forum: General Support - Replies (3)

Hello,

I don't know why I never noticed it before, (I only started using it this month) but this morning when I went to start noodling I saw this line on my screen.
I went to wipe it off, thinking it was a hair only to see it's a crack, then I noticed a smaller one in the opposite corner. I still even have the protective factory film on it.
Should I just deal with it?

I only recently took it out to play, update firmware, during this pandemic because I had purchased some wood sides from Etsy earlier in the year.
I've never hit it or had any pressure or anything stacked on top of. It's been in the box on a shelf ever since it showed up from Kickstarter.

Anything helps,
Spencer
